So here is a question, do I have to get a tuner if I upgrade my gears from my 3:15 to 3:73? Not that I don't want a tune, just at the moment short on cash
yes.

Sorry - I have to disagree with this statement.

The best thing about manual transmissions primarily are, control.

You control what gear you want to be in and RPM range that helps anticipate what you want to do next IE merge onto the highway, overtake someone. I didn't drive a manual gearbox in my Kia, Elantra cars because of clutch drops. I drove them because I like to be in control of how my car is driven rather than to let the automatic gearbox do the thinking for me.

My 2011 would smoke the tires and tear up the streets. My 2014 won't even come close to it. I'm hoping it will get better
when I get some miles on it.

I have a 14' v6 auto as well and having the same problem with the BOA keeping the rpms around 2000 when holding the break and hitting the gas....and oddly, that is also WITH a 93R BAMA tune....car takes off great and is much more responsive, but a little burn out here and there would still be fun....
