Torque management FTW! As others have said its a strategy to help keep warranty issues in check.
To the OP, get a tune and install a gear and just realize you wont have a powertrain warranty after the tune but it should defeat whatever protection strategy is on the car now.
@ Ibnzmonkey, the current V6 (while it might not have the torque of the 3v 4.6) makes as much power as the 05-09 V8s, I don't think the issue is with the 3.7 V6
Funny world we live in when people can say; "Oh, its only got 300 horsepower".

I have a manual but I def. don't think my 3.7 is lacking power. It may be different on the Autos but I have no problem getting her to get up and go. Hey OP I would just take it in and have your dealer take a look at it. If you dealer is crap then go to a different one. You don't have to get it serviced where you bought it.

If you have a v6? then you're gonna need a tune. For having all that horsepower the v6 is pretty much neutered compared to a GT. I had a '13 automatic v6 convertible as a loaner one day over the summer, and god did that car suck. I could NOT WAIT to get my own GT back. Not just the horsepower difference, but the cheap top, cheap interior, abysmal automatic with grandma gearing, and yeah, can't even spin the tires.

The op doesnt give much info here on what he has. Is it a v6 with 273s or a gt. If its a v6 he can at least put 3.31s in it and the dealer can recalibrate it for those gears since it is an available ratio and wont cancel his warranty. If gears are dealer installed may even keep that warranty also.

This is driving me crazy. It feels like the engine is purposely holding back power until around 3,000 RPM's. Also, doesn't allow me to rev above 2,000 RPM's when holing down the brake so I can't even peel out. ALSO, when I rev in neutral and put it into gear it waits till the RPM's go all the way down to apply any power. This is really pissing me off that I am being robbed of all this power that I paid for. I am strongly regretting not getting the standard. Is there any way to bypass this without getting it tuned? I am leasing so I don't even think I am allowed to do that.

More than just GT owners get quiet when a 500 pulls alongside...Camaros, Chargers, etc

GTs get three modes -- Traction Control / Sport Mode / Stabilitrac-Traction Control.

I will agree a factory 3.7 compared to Gt's definitely lack greatness. Put a tune, and 3:73 or 4:10 gearing in them on top with long tube headers and off road mid pipe. Transforms the 3.7 into a whole different breed of pony. Lol

The torque management system issue that you describe started on the 2013 and affects both V6 and V8 with automatic. Part of the safety built in (just like not letting you do a neutral drop). A tune will override it and allow you to do a brake stand burn out.

My older Vette only had 250 hp but the torque was at 350 and peaked at 3200 RPM and it was still faster than a new Mustang V6. It is the V8 torque that makes it faster.

Go to those 0-60 web sites. The v6 with performance package has times better than a lot of the muscle cars from 60's and 70's. Hell, one site had it quicker than certain Boss cars. Plus it gets better mpg and handles better.
