I would be Leary.. Any time I have seen pricing like that there is always another agenda. Especially on a retail order on a new model year.

So they're paying you to have a 2013 Mustang GT? Makes perfect sense. I mean why would they wanna make any money on the sale of a new car?

I believe their cost is quite a bit less than this.

That's what I'm worried about, but I don't know what to look for. Could you be more specific about what I should look out for?

Invoice is what the dealer pays for the car. Im not trying to be an a$$, just saying it makes ABSOLUTELY no sense. The only people that get $1000s under invoice are Ford employees and corporate takes the hit, not the dealer. Or if your buying an out going model and theyre just trying to rid their stock of it.

The actual cost of the car is a lot less than invoice. Ford pays hold back to the dealer for selling the car. Maybe for the 2013 they are offering awesome incentives to the dealer for selling the car. Every car I have ever bought new has always been under invoice.

They are only offering a $500 rebate on the 13s right now.

If you go to truecar.com you can see what the actual dealer cost is for a car. They don't have the 2013 up their yet, but for the 2012, you'll see that the dealer cost is over $1000 less than invoice.

That's different. That's a customer incentive. Ford is paying me $500 to buy the car in that case. Actually, the dealer is offering $1000 under invoice plus the $500 incentive which means I'm getting it for $1500 under invoice.

So how does a dealer stay in business making almost nothing on the cars they sell? Bunch of suckers if you ask me. No way in hell you could get a deal like that around here. They dont even wanna give you x-plan.

Hey Jeff or Bri, how many BRAND NEW cars/trucks does your dealership sell $1000 under invoice per year? Would love to know how common this is.

I'm paying $50 over invoice and thought that was pretty good. I'd ask the dealership name, but how would that work if they're out of state?
