Do you still have to pay those fees on an X-plan purchase? I thought part of X-plan was that it greatly limited the fees dealers could tack onto the sale?

Yup. Check my vehicle order confirmation sheet a couple pages back. I get hit harder than most. $606 for advertisement assessment plus $53.44 for fuel charge. Its included in that x-plan price im getting minus $500 for the rebate i locked in.

Jeff (and possibly Brian as well) has said multiple times that everyone pays the fuel and advertising fees, even ford employees. Those are non-negotiable from everything I have heard and understand.

Small correction, the Boss also comes with cloth Recaro seats.

That means you have to use Ford's standard lease rate which I believe is 13.9% or something crazy like that. Its not a car they want to or need to lease.

Thanks guys! The lease on my 08 was an awesome value. Jeff, you had given me all the info on it back then. The rate was 4.75 and residual was 72% on a 10.5K lease. That worked out great for me.

13.9% sounds horrible. Hopefully something better shows up. Are the residual numbers available? I'd like to be able to figure out what kind of payment i'd end up with, even if it's using the 13.9 on the finance side.

That's quite a lot less than a Boss 302 (which won't have discounts or rebates like a GT).
thanks, for checking that for me. that seems to make a bit more sense than 40k you know. i might wait a month or 2. im sure ford will offer a 2500 rebate or something like they did on the 11s and 12s. i have more than enough money to buy this now at this price.. but to be honest ANY extra money in my pocket is win. that savings alone pays my sales tax... seems alot of guys talk big on here like money is no option but im sure most of us all work hard for out money and saving thousands is nothing to scoff at.. i doubt any guy on here that tells others "oh whats 3-4k on a car purchase if that bothers you you shouldnt be looking into this car" i like money and the more i keep the happier i am =) but i do LOVE the new mustangs.. lol 13>12

And I really expected to see the 67B with the name "mayhem" on it this year, glad Ford came to their senses on that score...
MSRP is $27,880 on this car. $26,540 is the invoice total. The store I work at would order it for $26,639 - $500 rebate = $26,139.

True, non-negotiable as these are not tacked on by the dealers. These fees are charged by Ford Motor Company (as well as most other manufacturers). I pay them everytime I buy a new car just like everyone else.

The only 2013 lease rates/residuals announced so far are for the Lincoln MKS and MKT. I would expect that list to get longer in the coming weeks. However, Mustang GT's rarely get anything better than standard rates that are typically 12% or higher.

Brian, can you break that down for me into the individual charges?

Thanks.

Content question for anyone who might know... does the GT Track Package INCLUDE what's in the Brembo package, or must the track package be ordered in addition to the brake package ($1600+$2500) to get all the performance goodies? Also, what's in the Track Package exactly? I know it has additional coolers... does it include the Torsen differential? Does it include 3.73 gears, or is that an additional $400? Lastly, is the Recaro option dependent on any other packages or can any car tick the Recaro box?

Brembo content is included in the track pack with the torsen diff and 3.73's.

Recaros appear to be available on any regular Mustang except GT/CS since it has special seat covers as part of the package.

So what is the size of the Boss radiator over stock GT?

Does the standard gt not use a torsen diff or are they just throwing the name around and really its just 3.73 gears?

The boss radiator is a little bigger but here's a link(Click), and the Torsen diff is an option for the boss which is supposes to be better(no clue what is difference in the two) also the normal one i believe is just a normal limited-slip.

Did not know they changed these things but makes sense with the "Aggressive suspension tuning".

Hey good info! If you price out just the Brembo package + differential upgrade its only roughly $400 less than the track pack, so now I realize what the extra dough gets you besides a radiator/oil cooler!

TORSEN (Torque-Sensing) differentials are best for track environments, particularly road courses. They do a more delicate and more efficient job of distributing power at high speeds than a clutch-pack type differential. My GUESS is that that's what the base car has but I'm having trouble looking that up. Most track-focused sports cars come with TORSEN type diffs. Upgrading to this diff should help you yell DURIFUTO!!! out your side window instead of just doing sloppy doughnuts.

I'm seeing more like $900 for the differential on it's own, so stepping up to the Track pkg should be like getting the extra cooling for free! Plus none of the installation costs. http://www.fordracingpartsdirect.com.../m-4204-mb.htm

I found there's a fan site dedicated to nothing but the R55 Brembo package. That's where I got the $1600 package contents. Ford doesn't seem to talk about what's in it besides the brakes and wheels. www.brembo50.com
