2013 Mustang Order Guides (including GT500) & Price Lists
I checked our earliest orders for '13's and they're all at the 315 price level. That's just an arbitrary marker for Ford to keep tabs on price changes during the model year and to refer back, if needed. There was no 300 price level on Mustangs for '13.
Is there a name or title or something that this $1000 rebate goes by? My dealer is gonna act like they've never heard of it and I want to be armed when they plead stupid.
Please elaborate. I know there WAS a $3000 cash incentive on the 2012's, but what is this $1000 rebate pertaining to?????

I just saw a $2000 swing in the price of my mustang within 1 day. Ford decides the americans should pay an extra $500 each for the Track pack and Recaro options. Then i find out theres some weird fuel delivery charge or what ever, tack on another $500. And to put the cherry on the sundae, Ford renigs on their $1000 rebate that was supposed to last till 4/2/12 and replaces it with $500. Very disheartened right now.

Hi, I'm an old guy who's owned a lot of Mustangs over the years. The price for the Recaros really isn't that bad, considering the price of the car. From 1980 to 82, Recaro seats were an option in the Mustang. The option cost back then was around $800 on a car that had a base price around $6,000. Based on inflation over the last 30 years, the $1,500 price is not that bad.

OK, so I ordered mine on 02-01-13 so I'm good for the $1k Customer Retail Cash rebate then?!?!?!?!?!
Oh, and thanks for addressing my question(s)!

Rebates flucuate, and Ford isn't obligated to keep them the same. Sorry that you're disheartened, but you jumped the gun on guessing what your price might be before Ford officially announced pricing.

did the the orders change in the system to 315? a bunch of peoples DORAs have 300 on them
Wow.. mustang being affordable... unless i missed something i wanted a GT with manual trans. with leather recaros and track pack.. to get leather recaros you have to get a premium and with my math the sticker plus destination fee is 40k??? did i miss something.. thats as much as a boss pretty much.. a dealer told me they could and i quote "easily" get me a 2013 gt mustang with these options for 33k which was fair... im guessing not? someone care to help me out on this or explain whats going on
Very much appreciated!Edit: hmm... when I added up invoice based on whats in the price list it came out to $38,226 (before destination). Am I missing something? The MSRP total came out the same when I calc'd it. I am sure yours would be correct because it sounds like it's what the system is telling you, I am just curious where the difference is

That's quite a lot less than a Boss 302 (which won't have discounts or rebates like a GT).
True about the track aps, but you can get the GT Track Pkg with the '13 Base GT. I just put one in the order banks and it took it. With the cloth Recaros, this car has an MSRP of $35,185 and an invoice of $33,111. Where I work, we'd order this car for $33,210 less the $500 rebate = $32,710. Your local dealer could probably do a similar deal.
So what exactly would it cost for just a base model GT? I mean no extra options at all...it seems like people are really upset with the pricing, but it doesn't seem to be much more than last years base prices. Is it the cost of the options that people are upset with?
There are some cool new options this year that add a lot to the price (Track Pkg, Recaros, etc.), so it's easy to make a Mustang spendy if you demand all the cool new goodies!
Just for grins, I priced out my 2010 GT with the 4.6L engine/manual transmission and premium trim level to the 2013 equivalent with the 5.0L engine (MSRP). Here is what it comes out to be -
2010 GT Premium Coupe (P8C) - $30,995
2013 GT Premium Coupe (P8C) - $34,300
2010 3:55 rear axle (455) - $395
2013 3:55 rear axle (455) - $395
2010 19" nickel wheels (64V) - $695
2013 19" nickel wheels (64V) - $995
2010 destination/delivery - $850
2013 destination/delivery - $795
2010 TOTAL (not including advertising or document fees) - $32, 935
2013 TOTAL (not including advertising or document fees) - $36, 485
So the question is would I find the 5.0L engine + 6-speed manual transmission, the styling updates, and any other content differences I missed worth the $3500 price increase. For engine alone, I'd probably say 'yes'.
The GT track pack and Recaro options, in my opinion, are what are being offered to make those who didn't want to make the stretch to the Boss happy. That engine in the Boss is what ups the base price, especially when you consider a crate engine 5.0L is around $7000 and crate Boss engine is $12000.
I do agree that once you start adding the options, as in any car, the bottom line increase can seem dramatic.
