I can't even imagine since it is one step shy of being in your driveway. If mine can get scheduled next week, I may still have a shot for a May delivery.

Got an email from ford a few days ago...
"Good morning! I am following up on our previous conversation and I am providing you a current status on your Mustang. As of April 04, 2012 I show your vehicle in production status. Once it rolls off the assembly line it will show awaiting transport. I will check your vehicle status every few days and keep you informed accordingly.

Pretty good service on their part. Never even asked for an email!

Hey guys (and ladies if you are here too). I just did some research and found some useful information. If you call 800-392-3673 and give them your VIN, they may be able to give you more information about where your car is, and if they can't they will open a ticket and someone will call you back within a couple of days. When I called I found out that the status the dealer was looking at had not been updated since April 1, so I'm excited to find out what the real status is.

So my ETA was 4/4/12. I was just curious as to the possible reasons for the delay. Is it a quality control issue or a transport issue or maybe some other reason?

$900!! They are out of their minds!!! I just called our Ford supplier who installs all the genuine Ford Accessories, and the one you want would be the "Level 4". Its the most you need as you already have remote entry (Level 6 is more $$ but its because it includes the fobs). I would sell it for aorund $395 or so. This gives a shock sensor to the vehicle and its the best one you can get. I'm sure they are trying to sell you the most expensive "Viper" alarm system or something like it. Your find with the Ford one. Its a good system.
I don't know what my salesman was selling, but I will find out when I talk to him again.

Thanks Jeff! I had done some searches earlier and found the Ford alarm for sale from $130 to $180. I assume an experienced installer can do the install in 2 hours, so I was thinking $400 installed and you came up with that also.

You are still able to break into the car, steal the seats or whatever with no alarm alert.

Well I don't believe that actually true. Try this.. roll your window down, lock your car, wait about a minute then reach inside and open the door from the inside handle and it should set off the alarm. The active anti theft adds an interior sensor and a shock sensor.

According to the order guide, it comes with the PATS system. According to Ford, PATS prevents drive away theft. There is no mention of an alarm.

I'd like to be wrong, but I can't find anything documenting that I am.
Jeff or Brian, can you verify what the standard security system does?
