2012 V6 Convertible
Looking at a 2012 Mustang Convertible 1 owner all service records but high miles (185k). Always garaged never driven in winter. Ran great , no weird sounds or smoke on start up. Top works no problem, What would be a reasonable price for it?? I want to compare to selling price?? How is the 3.7 motor?? Auto transmission reliability??? Changed oil every 3k miles. Only Ford recently owned is 2015 F150 Eco boost never any problems.

Gotta Have it Green Fanatic Official TMS Travel Guide
Hi there, I'm no expert but have owned 'verts for over 50 years starting with a 1969 Fiat 850 Spyder. I have owned 3 Mustang 'verts and I will refer you to this thread for helpful info. https://themustangsource.com/forums/...ng-new-530786/
The top must operate smooth and all the rubber seals must be checked for softness and pliability. If the rubber gets hard, you get into leaking issues. Check that rear window and make sure the threads look OK and no signs of detachment. Those high miles are not only affecting the engine and tranny, but every component of the car. If the owner kept the windows open frequently, all that wind would be constantly putting stress on that rear window. I noticed it seems to really get buffeted on these generation cars, a bit more than my previous 2007 GT 'vert. Check for rips and water repellency. Ask to put a few drops of water on the top and see if the water beads up and rolls off. it should if treated properly. If the water gets absorbed right into the cloth, then it's probably been ignored. Now if the top is vinyl, forget all that. Just look for rips and wear.
Personally i would pass on this high mileage car unless you are capable of repairs yourself. This car will need things much sooner than later. It can get pricey. if you really want this car, pay near the bottom of the guide book prices. One owner is excellent! garage kept is excellent! 185k miles, not so good.....
