My experience with a 2012 v6
My experience with a 2012 v6
So, me and my family went in vacation to Disney world, and the 2 yaris's we were supposed to rent weren't there. They car place gave us 2 2012 completely base v6 convertible stangs. One race red and one white. With all the hype over the new v6's I was excited to drive one. But I must say, I'm a bit disappointed.. I found that it wasn't as peppy as I'd imagined, and the handling was lack luster... the handling I could probably blame on the gooshy tires and that it was a convertible. The transmission took a long freaking time to downshift, and there was no low end power... i almost felt like my 2000 gt was faster and handled better...
Idk.. this is just my experience with the new v6's at the end of the day ill be glad to be back in my 2kgt

Yea, they do have he pony package too with better suspension (or some time of factory package you can add). Of course the rental company doesn't want high performance vehicles lol. Don't want people renting and racing

Yes, the pcm uses adaptive learning for the transmission characteristics, if you only drive it like an old woman then it starts shifting that way and throttle response softens.
Drive it for a while like you are mad at it or pull the battery cable for a while and it will do better.

Last rental (12 Focus) I had that had an adaptive tranny took me 2 days of driving like I was running from the law and it finally started shifting good. I felt sorry for the grandma that got it next....might just knock out her dentures on a shift.....lol
Any of the Fords have to learn. I've had my stang 3 wks it had 8.5 miles ordered for me and it has already changed a lot. My 350 Superduty doesn't even run good til it hits 70 cause that's how I broke it in. Have Fun!

What happens if you buy a "new car" that already has 200 miles on it, due to a dealer swap. Does that mean the transmission has already "learned" from those miles, or will it continue to adjust to my driving style? Ironically, when I first got the car, I didn't like the way it shifted, but it now has 5K miles and I honestly thought the shifting had improved, but thought maybe I was just imagining it. This is the first time I had ever heard of the adaptive transmission. This might explain it.
