The 2011 V6 is going to kick the 2005-10 GT's butt!

Dude your tone sounded pissy and I know math and physics better than most. I think I have a pretty good handle on how these things work out at a track. Just because I don't agree with you doesn't mean I'm a idiot. This is my last post on this topic and its been a real pleasure.
I took plenty of math & physics in high school and college, so we both likely have a firm grasp on the subject. I'll add that I've been drag racing since 1982 and have hundreds and hundreds of timeslips and their data stored in spreadsheets to document various cars I've had and how modifications and power levels affected my results at the track.
The ONLY problem I have with this entire thread is the OP's assertion that an '11 V6 will "kick a 2005-10 GT's butt!" That assertion is hogwash, and here's why. Everyone's best estimates of '11 V6 performance is that they'll run high 13's in the 1/4 mile (IMO, they'll be low 14's, but let's use high 13's for this example). With the average 05-10 GT manual running mid-13's in the 1/4 mile, such an assertion is just plain flawed. Even if the '11 V6 somehow manages a mid-13 second run in the 1/4 mile by some miracle, it would still not be kicking a 2005-10 GT's butt. See how the OP's logic and assertion are flawed? That's my only gripe with this thread.
A much better assertion and thread title would have been something like: "The 2011 V6 is going to give the 2005-10 GT a good run for its money."

I agree. That's what I meant all along too. When I read the title of the thread I though it was wrong. It just doesn't add up. But its great that its close. But to say it will kick its butt is just hyperbole. Too much of that already on the nets.
