How about little more detail on the side shot.

IMO, this 2010 is screaming cues from the 69/70 Mach/Boss mustangs along with some "italian" influence.
Im a little confused on the engine availability. Seems like this car deserves a the new 5.0 right from the start. Dont exactly understand how they can do a 4.6 3V in 2010, then a 5.0 in 2011.
Seems odd, hopefully theyve got something more to reveal. 4.6 4V DOHC perhaps?
But I shouldnt be surprised, most first year revisions dont have "hood scoops" etc... or SE'S typically until the second year or 2nd half of the year.
Now, lets see, are these wheels going to fit on the shelby? hmmmmm?
Hey Russell, the whole "new car, old engine till next year" deal is what they are doing for all Ford cars. It was on the Escape 1st (2008 re-fresh has same engines, while the 2009s have the new updated, more powerful engines, with 6-speeds). Flex is the same, as EcoBoost is next year. I guess they want to make sure the car has less chances with glitches on a car that is both new and with a new engine, if both items were new. With only the interior/exterior is new, but motor is the same as current, less issues I guess. I am pulling at strings though, lol.

Would be nice, but then it would spoil the whole November 19th release date. You know they are only going to show what they want to show, till the LA Auto Show.

The Mustang's fenders were designed first. Camaro copied Mustang in 1967; it's only right that history repeats itself!

It's true! And the 2010 design was locked in way before the camaro concept was shown

What I don't understand, and I'm not trying to stick up for the Camero here, but I hear a lot of people say that the 2010 was done before the Camero was ever introduced. Okay. I believe that. But our car hasn't even been introduced yet. How do we know that the Camero design wasn't finish before the 2005 was released? When the design was finished and when the proto/concept/production was shown are two huge gaps in time. Can someone clearify this? Maybe I am not reading it right. Thank you

Anyone else notice the 1960's California Special style hood on the front end picture? (See area surrounded in red)

I did'nt realize that the '60s CS had a different hood from the standard unit. But, the way the grille is blacked out leads me to believe that this car may be an SE, or have some SE design elements.

That's not to say the look of the Camaro wasn't finished prior to the 2010 design either...
just that it wasn't shown yet to the public, so unless ford SNEAKED a picture from GM..it wasn't a copy.

Meaning the 2010 design was locked prior to public showing of the Camaro, so they didn't copy the look... thats the argument.

It was actually a fear of Fords at that show, that when the Camaro was shown, that people would say Ford copied the styling cues of the 2010 Camaro, when again... it was already done and locked before the camaro was shown to the public.
The general public doesn't know that, and thinks...
- Camaro was shown in 2006
- 2010 Mustang comes out in 2009
- Ford saw the mustang in 2006 and copied the cues from the Camaro into their new 2010 Mustang
When that didn't happen at all.

that quick shot of the 'vert looks pretty nice...I can't wait until they officially unveil the car and see the total package. I think both the Camaro and Challenger R/T look pretty interesting, but I would still rather buy a new 'stang.

I was just think I remebered reading that somewhere. Thanks for confirming it.

in addition I LOVE those WHEELS. They are hands down the best looking design since the Bullit style.

well, the average person probably does think just that. But, those same people are unaware how much time in money go into these projects in advance. I could only imagine how much money and time goes into R&D with a vehicle such as the Mustang, nevermind the rest of the lineup of automobiles a company like Ford offers.

I agree. I have been wanting to trade in my truck to purchase a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe, but I want to see the 2010 Mustang up close and personal before I make any decision. Especially a decision that is worth the wait.
