The trunk release used to be under the glove box cover, on the left side (1994 - 2004). Never understood why they quit putting it there for the '05+...

well i would agree on the upgraded shaker and on the old mach 460 but i am having a hard time picturing the 05-09 interior and the placement of said speaker. the gf got her 08 just a few days before i headed back over here.

i am really beginning to dig this interior with everything leaning forward into the dash instead of it all being a flat assembly.

Sorry , I really have NO USE for a nav system in a Muscle Car. In fact you can cut the Sync, Satalite radio and all the other gadgets. Just give an indash CD and a manual shift.
to me muscle cars are about barebones and raw power.

[quote=sgt d;5635882]i do not believe that is the door speaker, if you look closer when blown up you can see the chrome bezel where the current speaker is now.

My 2002 GT has Speakers in both loactions on the door.

brewman,

uhh, the days of roll up windows and manual door locks are long gone. the dealers, that i have seen, get these car **** near decked out and if you want a bare bones model then you most likely will have to order it. when we were recently shopping for the 08, our dealer found two of these mythical bare bones cars only to find out that dealers ordered them this way to make their own super limited, special edition, once in a lifetime rare and limited cars..lol.. creature comforts is what drives the consumer typically wants and even the muscle car guys are screaming for better features.

with that said, i have no use for the nav because i never get lost..lol..

My only problem with Nav is that it will be outdated rather quickly(technically speaking) and you can already get a portable Nav for a lot less money that I can take with me if I sell the car.

But you are paying for integration with the NAV in dash. Plus all the benifits of it being directly connected to the car itself.

That is true...
But i love the convenience of having it all integrated into the car.

I for one would spend the money on it....but would be a bit of a waste if you already own a GPS.

With all honesty My GT is a Premium and the power windows and lock are nice addys. I stay up with Tech and I work in a very high tech feild its just that my car is one of my escapes and I don't need tech in my face in my car. Thats all.

With that said I don't think people who can't read a map should be driving. LOL

The nav is great in our minivan. Especially when the wife is garage-saling.

Don't need it in my Mustang. I either already know where I'm going, or don't particularly care where I go!!

I like the Premium Package, but I can do without Nav, Sync & Sat. radio.
My new Stang is going to be a weekend toy, no need for stuff I will never use - especially Nav!

RE: Trunk release.

Maybe there is no trunk release. I rented a Dodge Magnum on a business trip a few weeks ago and it didn't require a key to open the trunk - or a trunk release. When the doors are unlocked, you just gentle push/pull up on the "handle" part, and a button on the underside of the handle causes the trunk to unlock/open.

It looks like there's no keyhole in the new stang. Maye they're doing something similar? Doors unlocked = permission to open trunk. Doors locked = trunk locked.

I hope that's it.

It's SO much more than just navigation. Go to http://forums.bradbarnett.net/galler...ages.php?c=594

But you cant take it with you when you sell it and you are NOT going to get that money back out of it for resell.

This is why it may still cross my list of options to have.

in many of the shots ive seen there is a swithch on the drivers side of the shifter..in the foreward, drivers side part of the center console...im thinking thats the trunk release...
