2010 Coupe without camo...
I still want to see the profile treatment...the side and door lines to evolve the scoop mirage.
All I can say is: Hold on to your 2005 through 2009 S197 Mustangs! They'll be classics, and their value will jump hugely once the 2010s start showing up in the dealerships and on the streets. You may even see dealer price gouging on the 2009s once people have the opportunity to see the 2010s in the sheetmetal.
The 2010s do offer an arguably nicer interior, it seems, but they they undid a lot of the improvement by converting the two center A/C vents to ho-hum rectangular vents--holdovers from the 8-track days, no doubt...
The 2010s also offer a nice rear fender kick-up, which the S197s should have had from Day One.
After that, the re-styling goes downhill...
And the 2014 model year is a long, long way from 9/18/08.........(Sigh)
Same V8. Same brakes. Same suspension...Are we excited yet?

did you write this with a straight face? what is going to be so special about them? when the time comes for these things to be a classic the regular gt will be nothing exciting, some old timer will look at it and maybe say that is a nice restoration. you can get a 65 mustang coupe cheap as hell, IF someone bought a 05-09 gt and bubble wrapped it now then they may be able to get a decent price for it, which will be nowhere near what they paid.
and my comment stands for the gt500 as well. these are not cars that have some super low production numbers nor are they rare. just my .02
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the value of our 05-09 mustangs will drop a few grand when the 2010 is released.
I see '05 GT's going for $16k.. after only 3 years. I've already mentally prepared myself for selling my $28k '08 GT for about $13k in 2011.
And it's unfortunate I have to take that loss, but I'm gonna have to sell it to buy a 2011. I blame Ford for improving on a great design and making me upgrade.

Surprisingly the 05s held value pretty well into the 2nd year...
Used 05s were fetching a pretty penny even with the 2006s on the ground.
Different time/circumstances I'm afraid.
As for any car, the new hotness will sell (especially since this isn't such a HUGE radical departure to the formula) and that's a good thing. Build on the success of the previous generation.
I can understand some people will not like the updates and don't like change, but to say that it's a total obismal failure, is in their personal opinion, and that's fine. I remember people saying the same thing about the 05. 120,000+ people a year tend to not agree
And some people..well.. they are just afraid that their baby won't get the looks anymore, and the new baby in the family will get all the face time.
This happens...EVERY...GENERATION

2010 Mustang Window Sticker Reveals Engine Size & Options
September 17th, 2008 by CobraMatt

A spy photo of a window sticker on a 2010 Mustang mule has revealed the same old 4.6-liter 3V V8 will be under the hood. Some Mustang fans will surely be dissapointed by this news as most were hoping for the return of the 5.0L motor. Even though it says 4.6L 3V V8 as the engine size, don’t think for a second Ford has not upped the horsepower to improve on the previous model. Personally I think the 2010 Mustang will see an increase in horsepower for the base Mustang GT somewhere in the nieghborhood of the Bullitt or Shelby GT (320 hp-330 hp).
If you look at history, a similar refresh took place from 1998-99 giving us new body panels, increase in horspower from 225 to 260 for basically the same motor and some other minor tweaks that included traction control.
Other options shown on the window sticker include 19″ wheels with 245/45 rubber, heated seats, dual climate control, glass roof and the next generation SYNC/DVD navigation which should be pretty sweet.
Vermillion06: Nope, just relating what can be found on other sources on the www. The "Same V8" info comes from this article on www.mustangblog.com:

well, all i can say is that if you truely believe the 05 - 09 models will jump "hugely" when the 10s come out, then i have an 06 that will have about 15000 miles on it that you can buy for the price of a new 2011.
What? No deal? Guess that belief in the huge jump in price isnt really what you expressed it to be.

Does anyone have an accurate arrival date of the 5.0? I've read Feb '10 and September '10. Any ideas?
Everyone seems to have an inside "source" but the fact of the matter is its all just a guess until it comes from Ford (but I bet you already knew that as well)
I'd venture to say later 09 the engines will be built, and in the cars Q1 of 2010 as an 011MY
i will settle for the 6.2 in 2010 then.....
what, motor trend said it was going to be in there!
what, motor trend said it was going to be in there!
And I would take the 5.0 PFI 4v over the BOSS 6.2 truck engine ANYDAY of the WEEK.
Its been all speculation and conjecture or at least I thought it was, Hell by your point of view we already know everything about the car because someone on the net said so.

Sometimes the problem is seperating the chaf from the seed....understandibly...most don't know who is credible and who is not. (and the unfortunate part that is things DO and can change)

And there are more than enough insiders with information that find their way on here. But heck I've only been on here four years so what do I know.
(except that the very info being debated about was right)
boomer, i am aware of the 6.2, it was just a
i could just wait for someone to wreck their 2010 and put the gren car's motor in it..woohoo.. everyone would be confused by a loaping, shaking new mustang!
riddle me this, if the 2009 is a short run year then that will make the 2010 run last close to a year and a half, right? so i would venture to agree that they COULD make a later half year production with the new engine. that would most certainly **** off the 2010 owners worse than the 2009 owners....

Well put a SMILEY in there Mr. Sarcasm!
Sounds like they just shifted the production year.
So the only short year would be 09.
Sounds like '010s will run Q1 of 2009 till the end of 09.
2011s will run Q1 of 2010 till the end of 10.
Etc etc
