who likes the new 2013 escape

Regardless if it is Ford profits or Apple profits reaching their shareholders, it is consumer purchasing decisions that determine whether US based corporations benefit the US economy vs Korea based or China based or Japan based or European based corporations boosting their respective economies. And all the shareholders benefit - not just the 'handful' you referred to. You sound like a 99er whiner with the OWSers.

As for Apple holding cash rather than paying dividends, you make it sound like the shareholders haven't benefitted. Those cash reserves are reflected in the high stock price. Millions of shareholders have benefited. Apple has about 900 Million shares outstanding with 76 Billion in shareholder equity. Ford has about 4 Billion shares outstanding with 15 Billion in shareholder equity. Whether shareholders own Apple, Ford, other US domiciled corporations, directly or through index funds in their 401k (whole or fractional shares), it is the shareholders who are rewarded when profits increase, and in turn the US economy benefits as well as Treasury. It is NOT just a 'handful' of people at the top.
I may not be able to do much to help the US economy but I do my part. I'd choose the Escape all day long over Kia. All you Kia lovers are sending the corporate profits outside the US economy.
Respectfully.
As for Madoff he was a crook.
My modest IRA & 401k has seen plenty of ups and downs through the 80's till now. Had to zero it out in the 90's due to hard times and start over. But thanks to US capitalism via the stock market, it remains the best rate of return of any vehicle available to small investors. Better than middlemen like banks, crappy whole life/u life ins policies & annuities, bonds, etc...
With owning your own home you can at least break even with inflation over the long term. But with owning stocks, you can break even with inflation - plus realize an actual profit. Pretty much everything else loses to inflation. Its all in the nickels & dimes and time in the market for your investments to compound.
So I choose products from US domiciled companies as often as I can - like Ford. Either directly or indirectly, I get a bit of that in return.
Good luck!

Besides, I'm trying to help the US economy.
Does anyone have any engine pics of the Escape?

it wasnt mustang fast but I would feel ok about pulling out from a parking lot. I drove a 2012 v6 escape right after and it did not hold a candle.

Look who Motor Trend choose...

Kia review Cons..
Our testers all complained about suspension and chassis issues, calling the ride harsh yet poorly controlled. Kia has a knack for making a suspension too stiff and inaccurate, producing all the negatives of a sporty suspension with none of the positives. Online production manager Kirill Ougarov wondered, "Who tuned this suspension? Did anyone?" Jurnecka commented, "Wow, this thing is all over the place on Mulholland. Feels like in every corner it's trying to head in a different direction. Tons of body roll." Associate editor Scott Evans added, "Worst ride quality. Very hard, unnecessarily so. Lots of head toss, especially on the freeway." Lieberman summed it up as "goofy."

they cut alot of fat on the new escape(thats how it feels anyway). The old one wasnt bad just felt and handles like a suv. The new one felt more like a fusion.
I really like the exterior of the 2013, but the center stack is a tad too busy for me. I don't like how a large number of buttons are behind the shifter, and when it's in park they're hard to reach. It may seem minor, but it seems poorly thought out to me. See the 2013 Fusion for what I'd consider a better approach to the stack.

Fiesta and Focus do not share a platform (Focus and Escape do share a platform). And they also don't share any engines (at least in the USA) and they don't even look alike (unlike Escape, which looks like a larger Focus sedan).

New escape is awesome ... just ordered a sterling grey fwd titanium for my fiance. She has a scion tc now and this will have more room, be much quicker, more hp & tq and get better gas mileage.
