I would have thought, especially since you pulled the tranny too, that dropping it out the bottom with the K would have been easier than pulling it up.

Regardless, I'm getting pretty sick of your engine always being pulled before I can check it out.

the easiest way is to seperate the trans and engine and pull the engine by itself but my LT's kinda prevent that. 2nd easiest would be the K-member dropping and I would of done that but that would tie up my lift at work and I need that space to earn money. So it came out the traditional way so the front suspension stays intact, the car itself is mobile and my boss is some-what happy

I'm pretty sick of pulling my own **** motor, I blame Arin's sheep.

so I went to a club meeting over the weekend and peer pressure prevailed. Good Guys is coming up this weekend and my club always participates. The challenge was thrown down and now I have 1 week of Chaos to complete.

the car will be complete and running by friday night.

Day 1: the old engine has been broken down to a shortblock and mounted on an engine stand. I started transferring parts to the "new" shortblock. If everything goes right tomorrow, the engine should be ready to swap in tomorrow or wednesday night. Pics to follow after my BlackBerry stops being ghey

Day 2: mucho progress

shortblock is now a longblock

everything staged for tomorrow morning

valve-covers, balancer, flywheel and clutch will go on 1st thing. Trans will also get stabbed in the morning and I'll do teh headers during lunch. So that puts me on track for doing it in tomorrow after work and re-wiring on thursday

So wait, you've done this four times in the same amount of time it's taken Arin to convert his car to efi? No, wait, that's not done yet...

on the 4th day of Chaos, it awakened

I started it this evening....... with open headers and scared the service writers

small list for tomorrow: exhaust back on, cooling system, front accessories, interior and test drive.
so it's done, but because of a scheduling/family issue, no Good Guys for me

Very cool! I wish I had a 2 post lift... I would use it for everything. I hate jacking up the car.

So did you ever get to tune it before the old motor went to motor heaven, or is it still running the stock tune?

it's been running a tune. The last tune combo was for stock bottom/cams/exhaust/intake. I'm running a nitrous version of that tune which has timing retarded through out the powerband. I need to get off my butt and get up to AED for a real tune, but work has been kinda slow
