Update:
motor is out of the car again and on an engine stand. I opened the bottom end today to check the bearings out. The engine ran for a bit with no oil pressure, so I was hoping the carnage wasn't too bad. I was surprised to find that the bearings were undamaged and looked brand new. I'm gonna put it all back together tomorrow morning before work.
On the heads front, I cancelled my order with MMR and got my refund so I'm looking for someone who has them in stock. Summit is once again back-ordered and so is LRS. So I'm back looking around with the smaller shops.

so I bought the heads from a shop in Washington last night. I got an e-mail this morning from them saying their retail shop sold the last pair. I called another shop in the LA area and they had the heads. I placed the order and blam, I have a UPS tracking number (finally!) for 2 packages of aluminum heaven headed my way. Friday is gonna be a great day

heads are on the way I'm watching the UPS tracking like a hawk as they make their way up from SoCal.
1 part of the supporting parts order will be here tomorrow. I ordered from Summit the ARP head studs, FRPP shorty headers and Stage 8 locking header bolts. Yes, I did order shorty headers. My way of registering my car out of state is no longer available so I have to register it here in Commiefornia
Next round of supporting mods: SCT X-Cal 3, Fluidyne radiator and some other various bits

Heads update: they're in Sacramento, on the way to the Bay Area
I power washed the Mustang's engine bay today to give it a better appearance. Head studs, FRPP headers and locking header bolts arrived from Summit and I picked up a UPR O/R X-pipe locally.
Tomorrow I'm gonna head into work early and get the head studs on. That will make the block ready for the heads

this is what it's pretty much gonna sound like

same heads, same cams. I'll have a UPR O/R X, FRPP shorties and Borla stingers.
oh yeah, compression ratio calculators have my new CR at 11.3:1 with the new heads

Motor is still on the stand and the cams aren't timed yet. I came upon 2 problems:
1) Look closely at the header in the picture above. It's missing the EGR fitting. The header needs to have a male EGR fitting and it has a female one. Solution: long tubes are coming back into play.
2) There are spacers that go on each camshaft between the cam spocket and the cam itself. This helps align the spockets evenly. I'm missing one of the spacers. I have a pair on order from Summit, but it will be thursday before they arrive, which means I would timing the cams on friday with the motor in the car. That is no bueno in my opinion. So I'm gonna see tomorrow what dealers in the area has it and hopefully come up with one

Update: delays and delays. My goal of having it running by thursday was not met and I had to delay my tuning appointment from saturday til thursday.
- the long tubes are back on to solve the EGR problem.
- got the cam spacer and everything is timed now
- I sholuld be able to pull it off the engine stand and do the trans and maybe drop it in tonight after work.
Problems: right now, the front cover is missing 4 bolts, ones that attached the front cover to the heads themselves and provide mounts for the accessories. The new TF heads are drilled for 8mm bolts, which are what Romeo engines use. I have a Windsor engine, so my bolts are 10mm. I had to special order the bolts and they should be arriving today.
