Thumbs down Mustang down

Looks like the engine wash made havoc on the car. I went to pick up my fiance @ her workplace and head to her place to welcome the new year w her family. Great food, music and good company. When it was my time to leave, I drove the stang as usual, then mash the throttle to change lanes. When I let go the gas, the car did not shift into third. I went to a stop @ red light and put it in N, the idle speed was over 1,200rpm Light changes and i put D, start to move and the trans didn't shift into 2nd, only when I gave it 2/3rd of the throtle, and then no 3rd or 4th gear. If I start to move in D2, it shifts into 1st and 2nd normaly, but when I put it in D, it goes blank and then sticks into 2nd.
What a way to start the new year

I don't have a clue! I checked the fuses and took out some of the sensor wires to see if any water got inside and sprayed WD40 on them, only found out that if I disconnect the IAC motor the idle goes down. I think that it burnt bec it didn't have the rubber seal in it's plug and water entered into it and fried it. I'll look the repair manual and search the web this week to see if I find something that helps me to diagnose this.

I painted some bits body color (paint code RD)

I need to find/buy the tray that goes below the radio, or a delete plate. Also the digital clock is dead, but that will have to go w a dual gauge pod
broken passenger side switch housing, held together w some screws
