No. I have those and they must go on my Fox Vert and no one else can ever have them.

Chrome wheels on your R?!?

 

So I can drive it on the street and keep the stock wheels safe. You'd be surprised how few wheel choices there are for a sn95 with Brembo calipers.

 

I figured, just had to give you a little slap for putting "chrome" wheels on your R.

And I know about wheels choices with Brembo calipers . . . no Cobra R brakes (or other big brakes) for the Mach as long as BBS RKs are on.

 

The only ones I have to go across regularly are at the grocery store, so I'm just going to go around the store from now on, haha.

I'll get some good pics once I get a chance to clean it up. It's been raining here for a week, and still getting more in the next couple days.

 

So tired of the stock Mach 460, I've started changing it all.

Bought a Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD, and the iPod hookup, and Sirius Satellite Radio connection. Took me a while to get it setup and working (I hate wiring). The only major problem was that the back portion of the holder doesnt have the holes correctly drilled to attach it to the HU.


It looks good, but it's a bit bright at night, I'm going to double check that connection when I next have the HU out. The sound isnt quite where I want it, so I'm still going to have to buy an amp and speakers here soon.

 

as much as i favor the vroom vroom over the boom boom this is pretty cool

mostly because i've been droolign at the idea of an in dash screen for a while

 

I knew I wanted a double din to go back in the opening, and this is the best looking stereo and interface I've seen on a screen, so I decided on it. Then when Crutchfield offered it $150 off, and free shipping, I bought it.

 

Looks good David! Makes me want a screen now though. Worst part of it all is unhooking the trac, fogs, and defrost plugs. The rest really isn't all that bad.

 

Not sure if the sn95's are this way, but the illumination wire on the s197 doesn't work on aftermarket stereos for dimming.

You'll need to find another source to switch the dimmer wire off of. I used a wire that went to one of the control panel buttons for illumination. The head unit senses the voltage going to the lights of the button and dims the head unit. Some also use something like the headlight switch itself.

You'll know you have this problem if at night you turn on your headlights and the unit doesn't dim. Turn them back off and no change. If this is the case, check it out.

Also I set the dim level on my unit in the settings. It's not a variable dim when I'm adjusting the gauge lights, it is instead a controlled setting in the settings. With the headlights on I am given a set level. To be honest I dimmed it quite a bit in the settings because it was so bright.

 

I always tied the dimmer into the parking light wire coming out of the headlight switch itself.

 

Hooked mine up to the stock illumination wire and it worked fine.

 

it has a button to turn off the screen, which is nice

so first, my sirius stopped working, guessing the cable came unhooked out of the back of the HU.

then my car wouldn't start, all I got was the starter clicking.

my headlights dont seem quite as bright, which could be just due to the weather, but I hit a bump just right, and it turned the unit off momentarily. WTF is going on here? loose ground possibly?

Loose ground sounds right. I had that problem in the notch with its first HU and it took me forever to figure it out.

 

yeah, something that's going to be a major PITA to work on, but would explain why the satellite radio went out completely, dont suppose it can run without the ground, and maybe the loose ground caused it not to start? idk

 

How old is the battery in it? You've had the doors open, playing with the radio etc. a lot, it may have been enough to drain the battery down to where it wouldn't turn it over, especially if you haven't driven it enough to let it build back up during all of this. I've had to replace two batteries lately that were cranking fine and had no problems under normal use, but would not crank after just leaving the doors open for 15-20 minutes. They were right on the verge of going bad, but didn't show any signs until I left something on too long.

 

it probably does need replacement, and I've got to do something with the negative battery cable, I dont like the connector to the terminal.
