Well, it's officially been a year now. Amazingly enough!

Happy Birthday Sophia!

yeah it really does.

Hopefully I can get back to work in the next couple weeks, then I can get done with some things I've been needing to do:

clutch cable, adjuster, and quadrant
MGW shifter
Speakers
Dynamatting

after 20,000 miles worth of crappy stock speakers, I've finally upgraded. Ill get some pics tomorrow, because it was dark when I finished.

With Nathan's (Blue Notch's) and Gary's (2k7GTCS) help, I picked some Infinity Kappa 680.9cs speakers. The install is fairly straightforward, but it took me about 6 hours, mostly because it was so friggin hot outside I had to stop every 20 minutes or so.

Notes for anyone wanting to do this.
-The door panels are a major PITA to get back on
-Getting wires through the wire loom from inside the car to the door is also not easy
-Finding a place for the crossovers can be an interesting task, mine are located on the passenger side kick panel, since noone rides over there most of the time, it's not an issue for me, and it looks pretty awesome.
-New tweeters will not fit, and you'll have to fabricate up a bracket. Do note: the screws holding the tweeters on are TORX bits. I didnt have any, so my tweeters will be a bit loose for a day or two.

I've decided to call it the mark 1 version of the system. I may move the amp to a slightly different location, and we'll see how the crossovers hold up.

Torn apart interior!

I still need to start upgrading mine, not a fun task for sure, especially the rear deck speakers

so she's been giving me a slight issue starting for a couple of days.

I crank it, she catches and turns over once, then dies, sometimes popping off in the exhaust. Getting some advice from a couple members here, I cleaned the MAF senso and the throttle body. Dang was it nasty!

Hope that does the trick, I have a bad feeling that one cylinder isn't doing its job properly.

pic on right is just after first part of cleaning, not finished.

so I had the car analyzed by Ford a few weeks ago, they determind the PCM was the root of my issues. I searched a few junkyards and managed to find a used computer. I took it to them, they installed it, and knock on wood, what a hell of a difference!

car starts properly, sounds a heck of a lot better, and feels a taste more powerful than when it was acting up

Dude I just sat here and read this entire thread. All u can say is wow. Sophia took one hell of a hit for you and you brought her back to life! She's a beautiful car and I'm glad to see that you still have her (and she's still giving you fits :hehe: )

Take care of that beautiful girl for many more years to come. I can thankfully say in the two years I have had my vert I have had one close call (with my manager riding shotgun) and only other damage is two bent rims, some rock chips and some hail damage..

Soon my baby will start to shine!

Looks pretty shiny now!

Appreciate you reading the thread. I didn't know it was gonna have that kind of a turn, but I'm glad to have the story.

I love this car more and more everyday, it puts a smile on my face, and relieves any stress I even thought about having. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

It looks shiny in pics and I did just have all 4 quarters painted due to hail, but the bumpers and hood need a lot of love...2 rips in rear cover, two spots missing paint and a bunch of rock chips in front cover and a whole **** ton of rock chips in the hood...

So I think I finally got my starting problems figured out, it appears to be the alternator was at fault.

Since I was getting free shipping while ordering the alternator, and since a couple things were on sale, I bought a few parts to go with it.

New Alternator
Mach 1 Grille Delete
Chin Spoiler
Bumper Inserts
and a fresh cleaning!
