Long time no post.. This poor car gets hardly any love these days, shes an honest to god workhorse. Buuuuuuut
I decided to buy her something pretty in red. I went on a local forum and saw some UPR LCAs for 80 bucks. they were never installed on a car. i looked at the screename, and it ended up being my cousin lol. when he found out it was me buying them, he gave me another 20 off!
so i finally got one of the stockers out of the car today, go to put them in, but the bolt does not go through. Pete was saying its because tthey must be for a 94-98, and they used a smaller bolt for the LCAs
so now i need to either drill out the sleeve a few mm to get the new bolts to fit, or sell tthem and look for something else. the second part of that is pretty tempting, since these are the dual poly bushing ones, and ive read literally everywhere that one poly and one spherical is the real way to go for better handling.
but its not all bad news. My fron end has been making a lot of noise lately, and I was fairly certain it was the bearing. My cousin also had two old, but in good shape hubs from his old termi and just tossed em in with the LCAs for free. I'll probably be installing those soon too.

Glad to finally see an update.
I've been looking at LCAs too. I have an AM gift card to spend, but still not sure which ones I want to go with.

Thanks guys
Nathan, are you more interested in straightline or carving them corners?
From everything ive read the poly/sphericals are the best for handling, but they make more noise (supposedly) than the dual poly ones. My understanding is that the dual polys are better than stock for their rigidity, but dont allow for the freedom of motion the spherical/poly combo ones do.
Im relly leaning towards selling these and getting some MM ones or maybe even those sweeeet aluminum steeda ones
let me know whcih way u go (when the time arrives) and what u think of em

Replaced the hubs today. While its not silent inside, the scary noises have definitely subsided
Tracks better too.
But just to give you all an idea of what I was dealing with...
so... remember, when your hubs make noise, check them!!!!
Also, I called UPR up and asked how much the correct bushings for the LCAs were. When I told them they were for the red control arm, they said they don't make em for that arm any more and that all they'd do if I sent it in was drill it. So now I've gotta find a machine shop around here.

Completely unrelated but why do you A.) Never listen to your voicemails and B.) Never empty your voicemail box? We need to figure out when you're coming down for my 21st.

Perfect. You should just set up a Google voice account. :-p
I ask because I too hate voicemails, I do not listen to them they are much too much work to retrieve.

Visual Voicemail gives you a graphical interface to see who called you/how long the message was/etc. It's kind of nifty, and if you have an Android or an iPhone you can download Google Voice, attach it to your phone number and have the service for free. It just attaches to your gmail account and you can listen to your messages on your computer and set it up to text you what it believes your voicemail said.
