Window Re-Tint & Ordering MoleSkin
I've seen a couple people comment on putting the moleskin/felt on after getting the tint, when it sounded like they already had the moleskin/felt in hand. Why would you wait? I'm putting mine on before I get the windows tinted, I have no desire to risk any scratches on mine, after what happend on my '05.
I did it after just cause I didn't want it to get messed up while they were tinting the windows. I guess the best thing to do would be to remove the wiper channel before they tint, then right after they are done, slide the Skinned channel wipes back in & reattach the door cover. Just a thought. A after thought for me though.
Also, It's been HOTTER THAN HELL 90+ here for the last couple of days & should be 94+ for the next 4, No Probs yet with the glue.

Nope, they don't have to remove anything to do it. The "Skin" comes with pretty good instructions or do a search for a post fron TacoBill, he has good pics & a write up. I could post some pics too if you can't find the ones from TacoBill. But resizing the pics to upload is kind of a pain, but I'll do it if needed. I found his link http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showth...light=moleskin

Hey guys!
Make sure you prep the weather strip that you apply the moleskin to VERY WELL.
If you roughen it up with a bit of light grit sand paper then clean it with alcohol the moleskin will never come off!
It's all about the prep work.
I updated the instructions. You only have to remove two screws to access the weather-strip now. You don't have to take off the door panel.
Thanks again for your business!

You are NOT going to believe this one. My service guy asks me the other day where I had my tint done. Told him. He asks me "You put the felt on the seals right"? Yes. Then he proceeds to tell me the same place that did my tint is where my dealer now sends their stangs for tint. They don't add any felt. They CUT THE SEAL OFF of the door!!! WHAT!!! My service guy had not seen one done there until recently and was shocked at what the place had done. Guess that is one way to keep the tint from scratching!!
Needless to say that tint place owes alot of Mustang owners around here new window seals.

Thanks for the tips. A buddy of mine who is a pro tinter mentioned I would need to get some felt due to the scratching problem. He brought it up without me having to ask. I'm going to try and get the felt in beforehand.

Make sure you don't use generic moleskin. It has crap adhesive that falls off. Just make sure the felt if manufactured by tint protector and you'll do fine.
I can't believe tint shops would cut the seals off. What A$#holes.
Have you had any issues with the new channels and NO moleskin? I'm trying to find out if I need to do it on my 2011. My tint guy is good, but doesn't want to remove the doors on my week old car... He took $50 off the tint price though, so I can't complain.
So Far No Issues. This is really easy to do. Door Panel comes off with all exposed fasteners and new 2008 channels are inexpensive. So Far not a mark on my tint.
Wait - I re-read your post. On a 2011 you should not have any issues what so ever. Tint scratching was only an issue on 2005 thru 2007. Ford Corrected in 2008.

Just to let folks know. The 07's scratch window tint tooooo. After only 2 weeks they are scratched like I can't believe. I'm getting them re-tinted on 7-25,"felt" or "MoleSkin". Here the link to the moleskin site http://www.automoleskin.com/ford.htm
