You have to go to the connector near the sub amps at the driver kick panel. Power along the pasenger side is fine, there is a rubber plug through the firewall just below the batter/ac above the passenger footwell. Make sure the wire you run for power is sufficient for the amp.
So you saying use a line convert or something like SoundGate LOCB.2?

You may as well use a cheap LOC since any distorion harmonics introduced will be FAR above subwoofer range. The little Scoshe one from Wal Mart works well, has adjustable input gains, and I like the screw-down inputs as opposed to wire pigtails.

It depends on the driver of choice, but it is a 1.25 cubic foot sealed enclosure. You won't get boom from that. You CAN get solid low-end reinforcement with the ability to get loud enough to hear/feel over custom exhaust/road noise.

Actually I don't want booming bass (I'm getting old, I guess).
Loaded with the EFX 12" sub and running a Visonik V108XT Amp,
would this just enhance the Shaker 500 overall performance?
That's what I want...

I've been told the EFX woofer is decent, I don't know. Only sending it 200 watts may be a bit slim, but it should make for a good enhancement. If you haven't bought it yet, get the box unloaded, and select a different woofer. At that low power, the DIYMA 12 would be awesome, and the frequency response would rock.
