I know his aren't replicas. That's why they look so good, cuz they're real.

Yeah, they are the real deal... If you look closely in the first pix in the start of the thread of the wheel, you will see the "Ford Racing" stamped in the rim... I wonder if thats why they work, maybe they are ok for our cars but the knockoffs are not?

The knockoffs can be had in offsets for both 99-04 and 05-up.

Well after only one week of ownership, I've decided to sell:

http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=55248

A few Shelby conversion parts I've ordered will have to be returned, unless someone else wants them. GT/CS rear bumper cover and spoiler. I expect both to be delivered on 10/19/06. Thank goodness I didn't buy any of the front end stuff.....

Well, as I stated earlier, I'm basically a car crazy guy that can't get enough power. I've been driving my 420-hp six-speed Cobra daily for about two years now. It was quite a shock to my system to have to "downgrade" to 210-hp. With an automatic, the drivetrain loss is more than a manual, bringing that 210-hp rating down even further. I also have a twin-turbo car that puts out 600-700 hp (never been dynoed so I cannot say for sure) that I drive on nice days.

Well, after one week, my goose-bumps turned to disappointment. Actually, I've been bummed now for about three days. I've been having thoughts (not good ones) of disappointment and a "what should I do now" attitude.... So I decided to sell and as I type this, I've inquired to a Ford dealership of trading the V6 for a GT. I hate dealerships but I'm at a point where I feel I've got to do something drastic. Don't get me wrong, I love the styling of the '05. It's the power level I can't bear. I am thoroughly disgusted with my purchase and right now, I'm mad at myself and taking it out on others.....

Things took a turn for the best this past weekend. I bought a Torch Red '05 GT with a 5-speed. The conversion is "on" again! Also, my wife told me last night that she's decided to keep the Sonic Blue V6 and to sell her '02 mini-van instead of the other way around!! Whoa!! So now instead of zero '05s, we own two!! One red, one blue and my twin-turbo IROC-Z is white. Looks cool in my garage! How's that for a 180??

So now the plan is to use the Shelby parts on the GT and the V6 gets the GT parts!! I am once again a happy dude...

I'm curious about the steps involved for the conversion with the stripes. Were the bumpers painted with stripes before installing on the car? Or were they installed painted without the stripes so they could be laid out on the entire car at one time?

Mine were done off the car.... see my previous photos in the thread....
I had an excellent painter, and i was a little leary about having them done off the car at first, but he obviously knew what he was doing, as they all line up perfectly!

Congrats on your new ride! I'm sure your'e going to enjoy it!

Thumbs up Shelby GT500 Conversion Parts

Here is a complete listing - on excel spreadsheet. Purchase all the parts
from Kevin Casey at ClevParts. Good luck with your conversion.

Mine is still in the works - have to pay a few bills before getting the Shelby Hood / Vents and Cobra Emblems.

Okay, did you get the door sill plates from Kevin too? Also, I've read "X-Charger" but don't know what it is. Supercharger of some sort??? Can you supply a link?

And I'd like to know if you're getting more "looks" nowadays???

Last night I was driving my red GT. Waiting for a traffic light to turn green, a guy in a Silverado next to me asked, "Is that an SVT?" Ya see, I sold my Cobra and transferred the plate (see pic). I said, "No." He replied, "That's what your plate says." I told him I just sold my Cobra.... Once I get my conversion done, I bet no one will ask this question!! (Can't wait!)

GTRacerX,

On your spreadsheet, what's the difference between:

Line 44: Shelby Rear Name Badge (Decklid), &
Line 47: Shelby Rear Badge (Decklid Emblem)

I thought there was only one "SHELBY" emblem on the trunk lid....

Willie, Yes got them from K/C..... Of Course! (one quick call and he hooks me up! LOL!!) I think i'm gonna miss this guy after this is finally finished! lol....... Well, maybe not that much, it means my wallet will be a little heavier!! Ha, Ha..... Anyway, about the SC ..... www.explorerexpress.com Nice unit... I can not wait for it to get here, it will really wake this baby up! As far as the lookers go...... It's just crazy how much attention it draws, it makes it really fun to own and drive! The whine this supercharger puts out will make it sound as awesome as it looks! Ohhhhh, by the looks of it, either you have had your fair share of cars, or you just could not make up your **** mind on plates!!! LOL!!!!!!

have these yet?

Have you thought about adding these clear bumper lights to your Stang? It will make it extra stealthy!

( I'm just trying to help you spend your money )
