SilverStar H13 Bulbs are Coming!
#64
I just bought a set of 9007 Silverstars for my '97 Continental yesterday. Pep Boys has a coupon in their flyer (there's extra's in the store) for the Silverstar twin bulb pack for $29 and then a $5 mail in rebate, making it $24 for the pair. Not a bad price.
Yes they are a bit whiter on the Lincoln, but not as white as I hoped they would be. I put a Xenondepot H11 HID kit in my wife's Lexus GX470 last year and they look like the HID's came from the factory. It also helps that the headlights are projectors. Their kit with Philips ballasts and bulbs was $379. They are supposed to come out with their H13 HID kit soon.
For those of you that have put in the new H13 bulbs, do the bulbs have the paint on the tip of them?? I can't figure out why ford put a bulb shield in the '05 and '06 headlight assemblies, yet the '07's have no shield....only the tip of the bulb has the black out paint in it.

I too just installed Silverstar h13's in my car.
I like the look better and it now matches my fog's as I have Silverstars in them too.
Got them at Autozone. Part # H13ST $ 19.99 per bulb.
Seemed to be noticable brighter when driving.
So far, I am happy.

Leo, I'll do my best to post a picture. I owe it to you since you told me how to do the post. I'll try one shot of the car as it is now with just the Silverstar fog lights and the stock headlights on. Then one with the Silverstars in the headlights as well.
It might take me a day or two because the car is actually at the paint shop getting the Shelby GT 500 rear bumper cover painted and installed.
I hope the camera picks up the difference. I could easily see the difference with my eyes, and also in the reflection off the garage door.

I've had my Silverstars for week and they look great. However, I was washing my car yesterday and notice the factory black shield that sits in front of the bulb is starting to bubble up.. It's never been like this with the stockers and both bulbs are the same wattage minus the high beam. Has anyone notice this? I have a 2005 Stang..

Yea, I probably did miss it. Well, hopefully it will be alright. I'll be working on retro-fitting OEM HID projectors into the lights using Acura's TL projectors. I just need to find spare headlights first. Something to do since winter is around the corner..
