The discussion was the new/next Cobra and how much power it may have. We're posting our personal experiences with real world capabilities of the past supercharged Cobra. We're speculating the next Cobra will be under rated like our 03/04s where. A couple guys here don't seem to believe it so I posted my personal experience and numbers that seem to be very consistent with 100s of other 03/04 owners from SVTPerformance.com, Modularfords.com, tuners, and several magazines. If the next Cobra is any thing like ours and has an advertised 460-475HP it might be capable of over 460RWHP with just a cold air intake and cat-back.

 

The pic looks very interesting indeed. Looks like a test mule to me. The GT badges are there to help keep it under wraps on the street. Whether it is a SE or Cobra, i am excited either way.

And just one additional comment about the hp numbers on '03-'04 Cobras: That 15% drivetrain loss that guys quote all the time, is not really accurate. It is not a constant 15% no matter the horsepower.

There is only so much hp that a drivetrain can take away due to friction and additional moving parts. If the flat 15% theory were always true, then a 1000hp car would lose 150hp to its drivetrain. Now that would be an extremely inefficient drivetrain. lol

From first-hand experience, i can tell you that a typical Mustang's drivetrain will rob no more than 40 to 45hp.

 

It could happen the Mach1 will come back how the sales were on the Mach1s

Possiblw test mule for the cobra. Notice the car up on the lift
1 the engine is out of the car- indicating a different engine or mod( do those look like different heads on that engine??)
2 the front facia is off - maybe for the new cobra front end
3 no brakes on the car-= replacing with bigger ones??
4 seats out- again. replacing with cobra seats???
heck - these are just guesses- but it definatley looks like they are working on modding the car in a big way

If you also look carefully, you can see how they cut the photo right under his chin. Something tells me these mustangs are not in the book depository....... :scratch:

 

And wouldnt the cousin be working at flat rock? Dearborn is a big empty building right now

 

I would think an 06 SE is more then possible. With Ford hurting in the HP department without the Hurricane being ready yet, and Hemis and SR8's and all kinds of SE cars from competitors, If you can get a high HP # on the books they would want to do it as soon as possible.
