I'd be very surprised if an SE appeared as an 06MY. 07MY is guaranteed but 06.......I'm not seeing it. I could be wrong though. A Cobra debuting in 05....latest NAIAS 06.....absolutely. And it will definately have more than 400 ponies at the crank. Try that value at the wheels IMO.

400 horses from the Cobra? That would be more than dissapointing as the 03-04 Cobra produces that much power. 450-500 would sound better
Exactly! This thread makes no sense.

He just accepted a new position in Dearborn, MI where he was dealing directly with the Mustang.
maybe his cousin is the new week-end sweeper/cleaner at the Mustang plant....Not that there's anything wrong with that! [/b][/quote]
HAHA....no he is an engineer. I forget what his title is though.

guessing $30k for SE coupe, 34 for SE vert (wouldn't surprise me at all this time, we are due). $37 for Cobra coupe and 41 for vert.

I think -like CrazyHorse $30k for SE coupe, 34 for SE vert. But I am thinking $39k for Cobra coupe and $43k for vert. --hoping they still plan to make a vert Cobra...
"Steve", did your contact mention anything about a Cobra convertible? Could you find out? I heard an ugly rumor that the chasis couldn't take the massive torque of the engine, and they might be scrapping the plans for a Cobra convertible...

Topnotch stated the chassis would be strong enough. He has enough insider info to know that. He may not know about Cobras, but, I bet he knows the chassis.

Kinda like your sig "Lets Start a BAN THE V6 Mustang Petition!!"

Without the V6 mustang there would be no GT, no Mach 1, no Cobra. No Mustang.

Crispy - the rumor about the chassis not being able to handle the torque in a Vert is untrue. From what I hear, the only issue about building a Cobra Vert at all is based on marketing projections and how much demand there would be for the car.

There seems to be a fair amount of support for it but so far Ford Corporate has not officially stamped a Cobra Vert as a "Go". My source has not seen a Cobra Vert Mule but he did stress that that does not mean one does not exist. He did say he thought we were at least a year away from getting to that point since Ford Corporate/SVT is focusing strictly on the Cobra Coupe at this point.

There IS a lot of disension within Ford (especially from the 'bean counters') about building cars like the Cobra. But it appears that there is indeed enough support within the Blue Oval's walls to see things continue to progress. Vert? Not sure yet. Coupe? That is a definite car that is coming and it will be sooner than previously announced.

As soon as I hear anything else regarding the potential Cobra Vert, I'll post it.

The "GT" badges would indicate it's not a Mach. But I could be wrong.

Either indicating the '06 GTs will have a scoop, or that they haven't named/aren't releasing a name for an SE yet....or maybe the boys at SVT have something coming...I'd guess the badges have little to do with the actual car...probably simply a nice looking mule...

...and it looks like they took out some frustration on the body shell behind him though...

Possiblw test mule for the cobra. Notice the car up on the lift
1 the engine is out of the car- indicating a different engine or mod( do those look like different heads on that engine??)
2 the front facia is off - maybe for the new cobra front end
3 no brakes on the car-= replacing with bigger ones??
4 seats out- again. replacing with cobra seats???
heck - these are just guesses- but it definatley looks like they are working on modding the car in a big way

being that the thing to do for dealers now is offer mods galore for new cars these days i would say ford parts are working on putting out a lot of extras that you can add. or we can only hope. Cobras start out as GT's and a scoop would look reeeeal nice
