I'm considering getting the dual magnaflow kit for my V6 'vert.

I'm curious if anyone has installed their dual kit along with the GT bumper (want to be sure the tips line up well the the bumper cutouts, etc)

If your talking about the wide open dual kit (#16605 http://shop.store.yahoo.com/hopup1/maducatbaexs.html) the left side will hang lower then the right its set up to work with a v6 bumper also they dont extend back quite far enough as the gt bumper is a little longer, but with a little work you can get both sides to hang right. I wasnt to happy with the sound, to much of a tin sound for me so we cut the straight through tube mufflers out and put in 2 GT takeoff mufflers I had and I couldnt be happier with those (using a reverse Y set up).

Thanks Shaun. Trying to find the "best" exhaust seems similar to finding the "best" beer or rock group. Never going to be a concensus

My original plan was to do just what you did (GT takeoffs with a reverse "Y") but I keep getting ridiculous labor estimates locally (we're talking $300-$400 to run a little pipe). Maybe it's the Boston area (cost of living is high here in general) but when I'm hitting $400 JUST for labor, going with a kit starts to have some appeal.

I definitely don't want anything tinny or ricey sounding tho'

I agree everyone has a differnt opinion on what they think sounds best. $300-400 does sound a little high im a lucky as I have 3 brothers that are great mechanics and one owns and runs his own 4 bay garage Another option to consider is the JBA duals I've heard a few of them and really liked the sound (and there wouldnt be the issues with a GT bumper). I think theres a clip or two of them around here.

The clips I've heard of the JBA's were sort of raspy (sort of harsh ansd screechy when they got on the gas pedal) I'd prolly have to hear a set in person. Also if I remember correctly the JBA's aren't stainless, which is a must imho.

You're lucky about the brothers, mine couldn't change a tire without an illustrated instruction manual

Here is a pic of Janets (azlitigator) car with the Magnaflow duals installed. She don't have a GT bumper and the cutout turned out great.

The cut out is very easy to do on the V6. Once you take the pipes off, use a piece of card board to make a template of your passanger side, flip it over, measure over 40.5" from the inside of your passenger side cut out and make your new cut out. You can use a sharp knife, razor blade, or I used a little hands saw with a metal cutting blade in it so it didn't make to many burs. I then used a fine file to smooth it out. From the angle of the bumper cover you can't even tell and you can't even see the cut so you don't have to worry about painting, as long as you do it correctly and take your time. It comes out really nice like the previous pose and like our car. www.westcoastperformanceparts has dual h pipe systems on special right now and they really sound gooood. + performance and + mileage (about 5 mpg)
