Oh yeah, it's dead wrong alright, see my post above Ford Racing's website is completely useless, it's full of bogus stuff.

Guys, listen to me for once..I worked for Borla for 6 years and I know the ins & outs of that company probably better than most anyone working there..So, like I said before: The Steeda & Ford Racing mufflers are made by BORLA as a "private label" item for their use.Ford racing really does not make ANY aftermarket parts themselves and niether does Steeda with the exception of a few suspension components and other misc. things...So, now that you know HOW BIG the private label market it there should be no further mystery as to what is what. Also, there is NO such thing as a Borla stinger, They are knows as the Borla S-Type mufflers. The Stinger Name is a Trademark Name of my company..Banks exhaust ..If anybody needs any additional info or a question answered, you can PM me....=)
That's what I've heard as well. Also, they are the new generation of stinger though, but I heard they called them S-Type for copyright reasons or something like that did they not?

Well based on the exhaust testing we have done here and from my other contacts in the industry who are testing the 05 axle backs, it is generally less than 5hp with the muffler replacements. The factory mufflers actually flow very well from ford, so keep in mind you will only be getting some sound and looks improvement with the change..Don't spend the $$ if you are looking for significant perfomance improvements with this change as their isn't much to be had.And yes Borla chaged the name to S-type due to the infringement on our trademark exhaust name.

Those don't look like the Borla S tpye that I have on order or look like the Steeda brand. Is that what the FFRP GT mufflers are??

You are extremely confused...

The FRRP Mufflers are Borla stingers, labeled as FRRP's. The mufflers in the pic aren't for the 05 GT, rather some other vehicle. The ones I posted above are for the 05 GT and clearly say Borla on them.

CN's: The FRRP are Borla Stingers with Ford Racing exhaust tips.

the ford racing mufflers are Borla (STYPE) OR SIMILAR SERIES mufflers with a ford racing logo tip on them which is the same principal as the steeda ones with their logo on them...THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A BORLA STINGER.If you don't believe me call Borla and ask them if there is such a thing as a Borla stinger...They will tell you NO..there is only a Banks stinger. How do I know this?..We served them with legal documents for trademark infringment.Anybody else have any other ?'s with the NON VALIDITY of a Borla stinger?....Hope not, because there is no such thing!

Look Chris, that's what they used to be called and that's what people will call them regardless of what the name is now.

You chiming in about it everytime someone calls them a stinger is rather pointless and annoying.

I saw this posted on another forum. I am confused to why Ford Racing would have two different styles for V6 and V8. His sounds clips aren't the best.

Needs to be opend in IE for some reason.

i believe:

The GT- V8 is a dual exhaust system. And the V-6 is a single exhaust system.

there is supposed to be a dual exhaust conversion for the V6 mustang. it would entail getting a different bumper kit with dual cut-outs for two mufflers.

this is the V-6 FFRP muffler from the link above. it definitely doesn't resemble the round tube V-8 Borlas.

i was quoted $155 shipping for Borla cat-backs ($669.99) from LM Performance. ack, i couldn't swallow the $155 shipping which would push the final price to over $800. right now, the Steeda axle-backs are looking pretty good to me at $429.99.

Hey Chris,
I started calling them Borla Stinger axle back exhaust because that is all I have ever seen them advertised as. I will call them what ever you want. But, all I want to know is where can I get a set of them. And still no one can really answer that question. I am ready to buy and just cannot find any and have been told it will be 4/6 weeks before they are in production again. RPM Outlet and Ninosports call them Borla Stingers so I guess that is where we all have gotten that name from.
Kinda like calling an adjustable wrench a Cresent wrench. Done it all my life.

I overheard some local wasps grumbling. They got served papers, and now they have to call their hind ends 'venom delivery systems'.

The Ford tip looks good on the muffler, but I haven't seen any pictures of them mounted. I'll be interested in how much they protrude, and how they 'fit' the back end.

Some of the websites out there that sell borla product call them stingers because that was the name Borla started calling the initial C5 corvette kit (I designed the one in the pic BTW =) when I was still there.Anyway a company called Haltech which was a dealer for Borla started calling them stinger systems and guess what..We here at Banks found about it and it got all nasty..Anyway, no matter as those other sites will be getting papers from our attorneys soon enough as well..Back to the topic...That muffler pictured in the Ford shot above is definately a Borla turbo style muffler and ford just probably wanted that style muffler and tip...I will make a couple phone calls and see if I can get ahold of a set of the Borla mufflers for you..would you take the steeda ones or ?

Yes, I still call them that, because of the prior Mustang/Vette Borla Stinger name...

Different muffler name, same female doggin' sound!

That FRPP/Borla Turbo Muffler is for the V6 BTW, The Dual GT FRPP/Borla is the S-Type and the retail list price is $440. If you want to try the FRPP one's I'll bet you anything that 05stangKC can cut you a pretty good deal on them, they are still in stock.

I have aways wanted the rolled tips and have not changed my mine. I know they cost more but I am at the age that I want what I want and will pay for it within reason. Bring on the Borla's with the rolled tips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
