Now here sits in my living room a Ford Racing exhaust system.

Now, if you paid much more than $400 for it. That's the issue you need to be pissed about! His cost on it is around $375. Ford Racing's suggested retail is $440.00 You should have paid somewhere in between the 2.
If he charged you $500 plus for a Ford Racing unit....and hid the fact that it wasn't a Borla branded unit, then yeah, he ripped you off big time.

Oh how I wish you would have been right.
I eventually ended up hanging up on this guy. He said if I pay shipping and another $100, he will order the system they SAID they were sending me in the first place.

? Please tell me you ordered by credit card... BTW... Save a copy of this screen cap...
Like I told you guys before...BORLA makes the exhaust systems for Ford racing and steeda. They make them to THEIR specifications and not necessarilly that of what borla will do for themselves. That being said: Borla uses the same design of muffler (straight through design) in all their mufflers so the sound will be almost the same if not the same in the FRPP,steeda and their own kit.Seeing the pics of the kit on the website as opposed to the steeda one and FRPP ones, the one you ordered uses their "turbo" style muffler and the steeda,FRPP one uses their "canister in line" style, but I can assure you inside they are the same in how they are packed, the tubing,etc.etc....Remember when I offerd any of you to ask me questions about the borla stuff in advance.....I would have been happy to tell you about (Jack) the owner of muscle motorsports...This is why...I spent 6 years with Borla before moving on (at my own choice BTW) to their competition and I have no ill will towards them and their product is fantastic for the most part, but I know that company and the product line like the back of my hand and have a wealth of knowledge on this kind of stuff..If you want the canister style mufflers like the steeda or FRPP kits then you will need to go direct through those companies or one of their distributors (which I know many BTW)...otherwise it means you will get the standard axle back kit they offer (which will probably almost sound identical)..hope this sheds some light on Borla and their operations and if you need any further info just ask...
At this point, I really don't care about the name. I want the loud system, not this one. If I wanted quiet, I would stay stock. I have no choice but to pay shipping back to them, and get the loud system. I will call them today about it. This is the last time I order from a company I don't know.
sorry you had to deal with this Jewls.Unfortunately Muscle motorsports is an "online company" only and does not really carry alot of inventory and since it is an online company they try to sell as many lines as they can get their hands on and often times not learn alot about the products they are selling...hope all works out for ya
I guess his biggest point was that I got what was in the pictures. I told him lots of online companies use one stock picture for all of thier items, and this is quite common. If that is what he is going to stick to, than the loud version has the wrong picture, because the oval mufflers are pictured. I have already sent him an e-mail, and calculated shipping, so hopefully they have the loud ones in stock.

Well, I am going to get the BORLA kit, the one I wanted in the first place. It's going to cost me a little bit more, but it is the going rate for them. I just want my exhaust on my car and to be done ordering. To make things worse, I ordered my throttle body spacer over a week ago, and called them today. They said no one told them they were back ordered. So the saga continues.....
I don't understand this...
"Loud" and "Quiet" versions. Does Borla even have something like this, let alone FRPP?
Sorry if i missed something, but maybe these are universal mufflers?
(Again if im missing something you can ban me
)

Yes. Borla makes a loud and a quiet version for Ford Racing. They also make a loud and quiet system to sell as Borla.
Borla Loud Part # 11750 backorder
Borla Quiet Part # 11752 (prototype)
FRPP Loud Part # FRP-M-5230-5GT backordered til 10/30
FRPP Quiet Part # FRP-M-5230-5GTQ
Basically what it comes down to, I talked to Greg and Andrew at Borla, and they helped me out. I am paying a little more for the Borla name on the tips, but do not have to pay any extra shipping, and my new system should be here in a couple of weeks.

The thread labeled "mods behavin badly," what types of borlas are those???
So if Im going to be ordering the catbacks from a site that has them in stock, I have to now worry about which one im getting??
Someone please clarify this for me...
Chris:
Seems borla has just put out a second set of mufflers (quiet/touring mufflers)
They are probably the exact same as the other ones (S-Type) but with baffles welded in to cut down on the noise and drone.
This is recent.
The catback is the same as the axleback in 'mods behavin' badly'
11750 is the axleback that comes as part of the catback.
11752 is the new one that apparently isn't even out yet (touring)
