Scott, the steeda and borla systems don't sound the same. Steeda isn't as throaty and deep as the borla. Plus, they don't have rolled tips. Stick with the borla! I know the wait is hard, but you'll love'em, trust me.

Glad we could help with the clips. You can't really tell how loud these really sound from the clips. Best clip is the one behind the two cars. They are WAAAYYYY better in person.

Hi Dan,
Not to worry I have decided to wait and get the Borla's. Reason is I was lucky enough to be at a local car show this weekend and heard an 05 GT in the parking lot and his exhaust sounded awesome. I had to go over and ask. "What exhaust have you got on that car". What are the chances. It was the Borla stinger axle backs. I got to listen 1st hand to the idle, revv'n her up, heck he even drove up and down the parking lot for me so I could listen to them. I was very impressed. Not going to bash any other brands but after hearing your clips and now in person I am going to wait on the Borla's. Steeda and FFRP's probably sound very similiar but I have heard the Borla's and that is what I want. Also the fit-n-finish of the Borla's with the rounded tips was great. I just hope I can really get them in the 4/6 weeks time frame. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I know of a set of FRPP GT mufflers that are coming to my local dealership soon.

We're curious about the look and finish. If they're anything like the V6 mufflers, they're going to be a treat for a lot less money

Tony,
I am not sure the comparison of the Borla's and FFRP muffler's is on a level playing field. I have checked out the FFRP mufflers online the best I can and I know others in this thread say Borla makes Steeda and FFRP mufflers but I can't believe that about the FFRP. If I go to FFRP website they say the GT muffler set is part # M-5230-5GT and give a price of $220.00 a set. I agree that is less than half of the Borla's. However, there is no picture of the mufflers on FFRP website, there is no mention of them being made from 304 SS. In fact no discription of them at all. And the shipping weight is 30 lbs. for FFRP mufflers and only 22 lbs for the Borla's. Seems to be a lot of differences for both Steeda and FFRP mufflers being made by Borla and being identical except for the tip configuration. I know Borla will command the higher price because of the name. But as with most things in this world. It is all about the $$$$$. If I am not seeing a FFRP mufflers in the true light, please show me differently, please. I am all for saving the $$$$ were I can.

That's why we're going to look at em, we're curious too! I know the rumor is that they're Stingers, we want to know for sure. The difference in price is significant and I'm skeptical as well!

All I have to go by is a V6 muffler that FRPP sells that are made by Borla, I've seen and heard that one, and it sounds amazing on the V6, the tip is great too. That one is a chambered design.

We'll know in a week or so for sure!

You bet Dan! They have the sound I want. I have look at everybodys mufflers out there and never made up my mind based on price. I have heard a number of brands in person in the last 6 months and I am sold on the Borla's As always I am money conscience like most. But, I know what I like and I will have to live with them a long time so I need to get what I think is best. I can believe the Steeda's are made by Borla because of the materials, the similiar look and price not that much different. But I am very skeptical about the FFRP offering. Not much makes sense there. But maybe I am wrong. However, my order on the Borla Stingers stands firm.

Tony,
I have 4/6 weeks to wait for the Borla's. Keep me in the loop on what you find out about the FFRP's. My mind is pretty well made up for the Borla's. But, if I can have the same thing for 1/2 price I might reconsider. I have been a Ford fanantic for 30 + years and I have never known them to sell anything at 1/2 price before. I will just adopt a wait and see attitude!!!!

Dan,
I must be stupid. If those are FFRP mufflers why would they be stamped Borla? Why would they be $220.00 vs $500.00 Why would they wiegh 8 lbs more??? Why? Why?Why? I must be missing something.

The tips are stamped Ford Racing
Mine say Borla..

Still wondering .. as even the steeda's are labelled STEEDA not borla.

but yeah, those are stingers.
Wonder if they sound any different or are the exact same muffler #.

Guys, listen to me for once..I worked for Borla for 6 years and I know the ins & outs of that company probably better than most anyone working there..So, like I said before: The Steeda & Ford Racing mufflers are made by BORLA as a "private label" item for their use.Ford racing really does not make ANY aftermarket parts themselves and niether does Steeda with the exception of a few suspension components and other misc. things...So, now that you know HOW BIG the private label market it there should be no further mystery as to what is what. Also, there is NO such thing as a Borla stinger, They are knows as the Borla S-Type mufflers. The Stinger Name is a Trademark Name of my company..Banks exhaust ..If anybody needs any additional info or a question answered, you can PM me....=)

Na, we'd rather sit around and stew about it for awhile.

I understand it completely Chris. Sometimes there are some subtle differences as well, and until I actually see them, I'll feed the speculation till the cows come home.

Now on to the matter at hand. The FRPP Mufflers are NOT $220 for the pair. They list for $440 for the pair. This is straight outta the catalog. So the list price is not much different than the Borla's....BUT, do you know anyone who pays list price for anything, I know I don't. There's a deal to be had if what I see next week is what I see here.

Tony... the likely problem is this web page on the Ford Racing web site. I'm betting, however, that this price is simply wrong. It just makes no sense to me given that the part number listed for the V-6 axleback is wrong and the list price is $10 more than the duals.
