Thanks. I've seen magazine articles that say 5psi is a good street number. I was thinking of 8. The thing I dont get, is I have a 2.3 turbo car that runs 15psi and nothing bothers it. I guess boost isn't boost.

Go 8 - you'll be happy (you go 5, you'll be going 8 soon anyways )

You can run more boost too depending on the tune...... if you go with a big amount of boost, total output can be reduced by ignition timing, etc. This is why you find some cars running 8psi putting out the same total power of other cars running 5-6psi, on the same dyno. My local tuner does this often; they will give the customer a street tune and a race tune for their blowers; often the difference in these tunes is ~30 hp.

At least with NO S/C labels you can get whupped by a Viper and make him think, "Wow, that gray thing is pretty fast!!"

yah, my Whipple at 10psi is putting down around 450rwhp right now with the "aggressive" street tune from ST Motorsports, but I know that with some timing adjustments it could easily put down alot more. However, I wanted to err on the side of caution so I asked for a conservative tune. I'm sure that a Stang running @ 8psi could probably put down the same as mine, or more, but the tune would probably be alot more aggressive.

So, did you "beef-up" your internals? Or is it just a S/C with a tune?

no "beefed-up" internals yet, but that is in my plans. If I did have forged guts, I would have gone for at least 500rwhp. But it seems that I'm just at about the cut-off of what is considered feasible for a stock 3V.

Well, I'm very impressed with your numbers... . I just may "clone" your setup, If that's ok!
