MMR Intake kit
The new plastic tube produced between 2 and 3 horsepower across the board, as most of you know this is why we did not initially release it, we felt it was simply not needed and a little gimicky!! Since many others have now released their version we figured we would bring it back as some people would prefer to replace the entire system, we will continue to offer the kits with or without the tube. PLease let us know if you have any other questions.
MMR
MMR
Second dyno pull, (1-12-05), with MMR intake, plus install of Steeda underdrive pulleys, rwhp from 262.5 (280.5 rwt) to 264.5 rwhp ( 284 rwt).
Third and subsequent pulls after 91 flash and considerable "tweeking", 288 rwhp with 302 rwt. (Prox. 339 at crank). Total improvement 25.5 rwhp & 21.5 rwt.
Most importantly, mid and upper range is now pulling strong instead of dropping off.

I wish I knew what you guys were doing when you say "Considerable tweaking". I have close to the same setup as a lot of people in this forum and may get my car onto the Dyno this weekend (fingers crossed), unfortunately it is not a tuning shop. The guy is a professional cascar driver and really don't do anything with mustangs, so I have a feeling I will be just putting it on the dyno to see what the numbers are and that is it
The first tune was on regular and they adjusted a/f to 13.1. They adjusted timing until the engine started to lose performance and then backed it off a bit. If SCT has shown you how to make adjustments using the Xcalibrator, you should be able to do likewise. If they won't give you that info, then you will dyno to see what you are pulling only. Go to basics, the engine itself hasn't changed that much, just electronic controls. Your guy prolly knows a lot more than he admits. Trick is how to control engine with the black box.
Interesting.
Here are my dyno runs. My shop didn't run it over 6000rpm, which is a shame because the car is still making power.
Anyhow, my car made 276.4 HP and 299.7 lb-ft of torque. The only mods are HC trap "trunk installation option" and SCT 91 flash.
The other pull on this graph is with the factory "under the hood" HC trap installation option!
I don't have a proper baseline. Every run we did had one mod or another on it. I should have directed the dyno shop a bit more closely in that matter.

The underdrive pulleys prolly wern't worth much of anything and I am sure some of my increase is due to more break-in time (about 2000 miles now). m1 didn't you have the air intake installed during the pulls?
I really did gain about 7hp from removing the HC trap alone. More importantly, about 5-7 lb-ft of torque across the entire range.
I had my stock air intake and air filter installed during both pulls. I am posting this not because it represents MMR, but rather for compare/contrast purposes. I run a stock intake, minus HC trap.

Your torque curve stays higher, longer. That's very good, and quite possibly from the MMR but it could be underdrive pulleys as well.
Nice mods. I'm thinking of the underdrive pulleys but am not convinced yet. Since I won't be doing it myself, I have to take into consideration the installation costs.

SOLUTION

Gain horsepower and torque with this straightforward upgrade. Lifetime filter can be cleaned and re-oiled, but the big news here is that we've streamlined the airflow in the 05 Mustang to the point that a computer re-flash isn't just an option, it's required! Check out the SCT Xcalibrator - the perfect tool for the job!
Adds: 26.7 H.P.
22.0 lb.ft Torque
Dyno charts to follow!
Anyone that sells you a kit without telling you they need a computer re-flash is very mistaken.

What a crock this is. John- Bryan can tell you the facts.
:notnice: :notnice:
Two to three HP came from this setup the rest came from the tune.
I saw where the underdrive pulleys showed no real gain. I saw on Two Guys Garage where the said they got a large HP gain with the pulleys That was another crock. The proof is in the dyno pulls and that does not mean make loads of changes and leave out the other changes when making great claims for a product. That is lieing by omission. Might as well put a blower on and a K&N on top and claim a 100HP gain with the filter. The facts are there for all f us to read in Johns and Brians post on the subject.

I paid 100 for the pulley install and had them throw the MMR on while they were at it....170.00 sounds like alot...
