Don't bother. Get the set from stangmods.com, either single or dual-xennon(hi-lo beams). Only use 4300(very white) or 6000k(touch of blue). Sylvania and Phillips do not make any other Kelvin rating, so you already know those are no-name bulbs. 8000K+ doesn't put out decent light anyway.

The second set down ("Mustang HID Headlight Conversion Kit for 05-08"), if that is not "bi-xenon" does that mean that there are no high beams, or just that the high beams are no HID but halogen.

You lose the highbeem. Ther are a lot of single (low beam only) replacements. I'm waiting to see what an upgrade using 2008 HIDs direct from Ford will cost.

If you mean the ones from 2008 Mustangs, they're like a grand for the pair.

I can't see them being much more than what's on the sticker. I bet you can get them cheaper from an Internet OEM supplier usually 10-30% less then walking up to your local parts counter.

HID's

I just know I have read a couple of posts where people have priced buying them and they were like $500 a side. Maybe they'll come down. Remember, it's cheaper buying anything on the car, than buying it later.

Not true with bixenon. I have a bixenon kit from Stangmods that has a dual element bulb and 4 ballasts.

So with these http://www.stangmods.com/2005-Mustan...it-p/00999.htm
there is no high beam at all? So you wont be able to flash someone to an intersection to let them go or anything like that?

Rob,

I was answering Jason's question regarding the non-bixenon kit from stangmods. I hope no one thought I was saying all HID kits didn't contain hi-beams.

If anyone knows the OEM part #'s for the Ford HIDs please post so I can start looking for the cheapest cost to convert. If it does turn out to be $1000 I'll go with the bi-xenons from stangmods.

Thanks,
Wayne
