I have 91 octane tune installed, all the gas stations around here sell 93 so Id like to see If I can get a performance increase with the 93 tune.
I did find this on diablo's site but I'll have to wait till tomorrow to see if it has a 93 octane tune in the update for the CnL.

No, it's not good for the electric motor of the fan. When your car is moving faster then 35mph or so there is enough wind flow where the fan is not needed. If it's on the fan will encounter resistance from the natural wind flow when driving and this will cause one of two things, it will try and slow the fan down or speed it up both of which can make the fan motor run hotter then normal and thus end up buring out the windings of the fan motor...

I have a predator...looks like I have to take it somewhere to have it updated, tunes uploaded.
please include links to specific software/ data that will enable me to build my own tunes...
It's my understanding that an aftermarket tune is enough to void the drivetrain warranty, as the dealer can claim that the mods/tune can have damaged whatever part may have caused you to bring the car in for repair (transmission for example).
That stuff said, I "heard" from a "friend" that with a stock tune reinstalled and touching the battery cables together it effectively "reboots" the factory computer and the dealer wouldn't know it had been run with an aftermarket tune.* It also depends on the dealer, as some are more mod-friendly than others.

Also, I have to state the obvious - there are many pitfalls for the DIYers and getting it done right, costs money. If you screw up, you may damage the motor. The more you add, the more you pay. If you go with the professionals, then you also keep paying for remapping/retuning - you get what you pay for.
I have a GMS Fuego/CAI&MAF combo on my '07 Mustang GT auto. I loaded the the 93 octane setting tune, about 5 weeks ago and have had absolutely no problems with it. There is no drive by wire lag and it goes like stink. I have no interest in "before & after" dyno comparisons. It's clear to me that we all have different "point of diminishing return" strategies.
Has anyone ever had any problems with their XCal2 not uploading the tunes into their ECM? Mine keeps getting frozen on the verifying base tune screen. I was wondering who all has had problems with their XCals. Thanks.
You mean they dont have any 91 tunes. All of steedas tunes are for 93.I have older version and newer version and it cleary states CAI with 93.And believe me,It wont even run without 93 and it better be a good quality 93.I have been taking a little timing out of it so that its not so picky with fuel.
Hello.
Just for checking : i've changed my 275/40/18 street tire for a 28x10.5x15 Et Drag while going on the track, but i've got some perfomance issue. I'm automatic, and i want to make sure that i haven't to change anything in my tune due to tire size vs the way my car shift. Thanks.

If you have updated "Live Update 2" to version 2.2.0, you might have noticed a new option to backup XC2 files. When backing up the files, the process fails about halfway through as it is downloading files from the Xcal2. It seems to be having a time out problem. Therefore no files a backed up.
Is anyone else having that problem?
Is anyone else having that problem?
Any programmer will be able to do that, but the real question is, why would you want to totally remove it? There really isn't much more power to be had above 6500, even with a CAI and a tune. Plus you risk some major engine damage going much higher.
Help! I have a Granatelli Fuego tuner and I installed a 62mm throttle body that has a bad actuator ( I didn't know ). I had long decel time upon lifting my foot from the gas. I stupidly tried to compesate by lowering both idle speed settings with the Fuego. I drove a mile and got a "check engine" light. I tried to go to stock & the tuner said "stock tune corrupt" & to call GMS. The code that comes up is : unknown err 11 NO_AUTO DETECT & the tuner no longer lists return to stock as an option. I had the computer reflashed at a dealer for 70 beans. He said they cleared and loaded the stock tune in & that I needed to let the car "relearn". It runs like poop, starts hard, idles erratically, & bogs @ WOT. Mileage went South fast. I called Steve at GMS and pulled & reloaded the memory card on the tuner, disconnected the battery, spoke to God, etc. I will name a child after anyone who can help me make peace with my beloved Mustang again. Thanks, Pat
Thanks for the response. I ordered the Steeda CAI today w/o the Xcal - I'm going to have my dealer mechanic flash it and try and squeeze some more hp out of it. Also ordered the MagnaFlow Cat Back system. As I learn I will consider buying the Xcal depending on how many changes I make. Right now it's one step at a time.
Happy motoring.

The PCM has ram and its called KAM (Keep Alive Memory). When you disconnect the battery the KAM (ram) is cleared. What will happen is your cars PCM will have to relearn, which isn't such a bad thing, any parameters associated with Adaptive Learning. This is also explained in your owners manual if you have an automatic tranny.

You will still have to have the car dyno'd to fine tune the tune.
