Fantastic Dyno Weekend in St. Louis, MO

I just wanted to thank everyone that came out and dynoed this weekend with Doug. It was a great turnout and alot of fun. I am so glad to have met such wonderful people and hope that we can do it again soon. Thanks to Doug as well, because without him it would not have been possible.

Oh and Doug by the way, after you put on the little gift from Andy you might actually be able to make more torque than me.

We were all out of there by 4:30 today. Bill has all of the official numbers so hopefully he will be posting them soon. What happened to you Saturday night? You disappeared on us. Hopefully you had a good time.

Yes, my pipes are nice arent they?

THE NUMBERS ARE HERE
Great week-end tuning session by the Man Doug from Banachips
I am listing only performance parts on the cars listed

Top dog for both days was the man himself. Doug. I forgot to write down his numbers as I was too busy talking to Bean Sorry

#2 None other that BEAN !! (Mrs 414ci Goose) 286HP 307 TQ
06 GT auto with 1 5/8 long tubes, motion delete plates, underdrive pullys.373 gears with MTs out back. 93 octane fuel and she did not list her CAI.

#3 Dan A (1STL05GT----Redfire Sleeper ) 274HP 292 TQ
O5 manual shift with JLT2 CAI and 91 octane. No other mods.

#4 John ( GT JOHN )271 HP 287 TQ
05 GT Auto HV ram air CAI 373 gears 93 octane fuel

#5 Was me Bill (Mongoose—C-ME-GO) HP 267 TQ 292
05 GT Auto JLT ! CAI, 410 gears.,93 octane fuel. I had Lidio’s tune in the car and Doug added twelve more horsepower.

#6 Charlie( Fastball) 264 HP 2921 TQ
05 GT Auto MRT CAI 331 gears, 93 octane fuel

#7 Mitch( MTCHSTNG ) 264 HP 284 TQ
06 GT Auto Granatelli CAI, 331 gears 93 octane. Doug made a note there was still some 87 in the tank so he was unable to max the timing

#8 Danny S 259 HP 283 TQ
He did not list his mods or any information on the form on the form.

#9 Doug ? ( Doug XOX ) 253 HP 269 TQ
97 GT/CS K&N CAI 93 octane fuel.

#10 Mark (One Mean Marine) 250 HP 270 TQ

Steve was unable to make it and I do not know which of the above is Sodaman as he left before I arrived.
It was a great two days for all and the price was very reasonable. Maybe next year Andy & Bean will set up another.

All of the dynojet pulls were SAE Corrected and not Standard. This is an important fact.

There were (9) Automatic's and (1) Stick shift

Had a great two days at Adrenaline Motor Sports testing Mustangs. A few words about the owners of Arenaline (Chuck and Susan) Chuck and Susan both are great people and very knowledgable about engines, tires and suspension . For those of you that may be into Drifting, Susan is a champion drifter running a very impressive car with some very high powered sponsors. The shop is very well know through out the USA for building very high horsepower engines and state of the art suspension systems for drifting. The shop has a full time staff of 12 mechanics and has been in their present locattion for 10 years. I certainly learned a lot of good information speaking with them both during the 2 day pull session. Special thanks Chuck and Susan.

Mr. & Mrs 415 Goose (Andy and Bean) were the organizers and hosts for the 2 day event. Bean provided enough Subway sandwiches to feed a small army, Andy provided a lot of good humor. So when you were not stuffing subways down you could laugh at Andy's stories.

Bean also was kind enough to give some a ride in Andys 600+hp and 600+torque Lightning.........the truck is scary fast and Bean doesnt mind demonstrating that fact when she takes you for a ride. Just hold on

I really cant say enough good things about Doug. He's a very intellegent kicked back good ole boy from Birmingham. That has more patients than most people in his position.

Doug custom tuned every single Mustang there. Not only did he tune the cars but took time out with each driver to explain what he was doing and what they were looking at on the graphs. He did this 10 times and evertime there was absolutely no hurry, answered everyones questions, gave advise...........you name it........he did it. I need to say, and I'm sure others that were their will agree, that Dougs email tunes are darn near right on when compared to his custom tunes.

Some Mustangs needed a few parts for their pulls, Doug didnt hesitate to run out to his Roush and strip parts off the engine to complete the pulls. Mongoose provided some spare parts from his beautiful Mustang also.

Many CAI's were tested for performance.....C&L, JTL, WMS and GMS. Hope I didnt forget any. Testing results will come at a later date by those that are lot more savy than I on the subject.

I've got to go along with One Mean Marine. The CMP's and Long Tubes are a good HP adder across the entire power band. God help us when Bean and Andy add the new intake thats coming out soon.

That about wraps it up from my end. I'm sure I've left out some good stuff to tell............but I'll let those people tell their stories.

Until next time

Well I am # 8/sodaman and only performance mods are the granatelli CAI, and supreme axle backs. We saw pretty much what we thought we would with the granatelli. Pretty much the same hp numbers as the C&L, We also dyno'd with there MAF to see if it needed a tune at all. Well lets just say those that have the granatelli, should still get a tune. I like the CAI so I will not be changing, but from my experience in seeing the dyno info I would still recommend getting a custom tune. My numbers were 259hp with just the two mods, also mine is an automatic. These horsepower numbers and torque is pretty much what doug has been seeing for the auto and a cai. Doug is a great guy, very down to earth and will explain whatever you need to know about the dyno, tune, etc. Andy and his other half are great as well. They brought sandwiches etc, unfortunately I had to work overnight sunday so I was not able to hang out for all the dynos. The longtubes are killer loud thats for sure. Met some really nice people. Hope to get together again sometime for another dyno day, picnic, or whatever. Chat at you all soon.

Like everybody else that was there I had a great time and thanks to Andy and Bean for everything they did setting this up. Also like everybody else I am impressed and thrilled with Doug's tune. You don't know what you are missing if you don't have one yet. With my auto it chirps the tires now in 2nd and 3rd gear! waaay cool.

Hey guys,

Well, other then being nearly dead from the non-stop drive home I'd had a great time! I really want to say thanks to Andy and Bean as they were the nicest hosts I could ever hope for! Thanks Dougx0x for the dinner, and to everyone else just for showing up! I had a blast and I love putting a face with a email or voice on the phone.

About half way into day 1 on the 3rd automatic I figured out that EVERY car I was going to tune was an auto!! I've never been to a automatic dynoday but still it was good. It give my auto tune a good test on the dyno, 9 times, to ensure the converter wasn't unlocking at WOT. This is my normal automatic tune.

For testing some of the intakes, well like most other " No tune needed" air intakes they do. The a/f ratio's were either lean as could be, 14-15:1, or they would spike down to 12.5 for a few hundred rpm and then at about a 45 degree angle end up at 14:1 by 6000, all of these were at WOT. We also had a MRT intake there that was a No tune needed type as well. Without the tune we had gains of 9-11rwhp and the same from Torque on all of the " No tune needed" intakes.

Still, when you did add my tune and I corrected the a/f ratio's the numbers were right up there. I was impressed my Mark #10, in that he had only a 87 Tune and picked up nearly 20 rwhp with an intake as well.

We also had a prototype intake there that I was mainly testing for the a/f numbers and they were great too, right at 13:1 on Mark's and 13.5:1 @ WOT on Mitch's, something new is coming from C&L but I can't specify just yet.

I'll let everyone else post their dyno graphs and sheets as they should have them. As for mine, my last run on my car was 298rwhp and 294 rwtq, gotta love the cams!

Thanks, Doug.

So can we see some dyno graphs of the ones you're saying were running too lean? Because when I got mine dynod it leveled out nicely at 12.5. Also at what a/f do the O2 sensors go off and give you a CEL? And are you saying you did a base stock run, and then did a test with a GMS CAI, since that is a "no-tune required" too, and you only got 9-11 HP gain? You were impressed with #10 in that he "only" had an 87 octane tune and he picked up nearly 20HP, so I'm assuming that is with the GMS CAI and stock MAF and your custom dyno tune? Because that's what I use, well here it is 88 octane, and I used the GMS MAF and I got about the same HP/torque numbers.
