E-force 455RWHP with stock airbox!
With my tuner getting ready to relocate next week (Bob Kurgan), I finally had to get off my *** and install the GT500 pump kit along with going one pulley smaller on the E-force (3.5 inch) in prep for a dyno tune today. Nice job by Ford with offsetting the fuel pump access hole in the floorboard just enough to make the installation lots of fun.
My intent was to install a Saleen Extreme CAI (I had fabbed up an intake tube and some couplers to make it fit) at the shop before getting the tune, but Bob talked me out of it. He was more than confident we could get to my goal of the 450 range with the stocker.
After seeing the final results, I am more than pleased with the outcome as I am up 23 RWHP and 39RWTQ from Bob's original tune (which was needed to fix the crappy one from Edelbrock)! And this was with some very conservative/safe tuning as the AFs were right at 11.5.
Now I need to make it to the track this fall and see if I can pull off a sub 12 sec. run, which is my goal with the car. But I need to spend the money on some 15in wheels and DRs or this won't happen.

what type of dyno does your tuner use?
Certainly would help with all that new power. Downside to getting traction with all that power is that stuff starts to break unfortunately. Instead some of the energy being diverted away from the vehicle with spin.....the car will absorb it all.
11s are very possible for you.

Doug,
I don't see any other motor mods listed in your sig except the e-force and tune.....is that correct? No other motor mods? Also, I'm guessing that Milwaukee is pretty close to sea level? Or am I mistaken about that?

Yeah, but I can get a set of 15 inch wheels and DRs for less than good 18 inch DRs, which allows me to have a set of rears just for track trips and keep my street set-up.

Well, let's see... 18 in. Nitto NT05Rs run $540/pair, M&H Racemasters run $550/pair, MT ET Steets run $520/pair.
Or I can get a set of Jeg Sport Stars rims (which have a direct 15x8 fitment... no spacers or sway bar relocation) for $250 and ET Streets for $360. So for another $60 over 18s, I have a set just for the strip.

I thought I read somewhere that 15" wheels would not fit over stock brakes. I take it that's not true? I mean, I see a lot of drag cars with 15's but I guess I just assumed they'd been modded to accept them.

Great dyno #'s on your car. That said, I continue to be baffled by high horsepower S197's that can't run sub 12's at the dragstrip. I see it quite often at our local track. Big trap speeds (115-125 mph), but ET's in the 12's and 13's. It's usually traction that's the culprit. I've run a best of 11.85 @ 113.5 with just 364 rwhp, so I would expect that your car (with 91 more rwhp) would be solidly in the low to mid 11's, even in your heavier convertible.

I know traction will be key which is why I am putting together a 15 inch DR set-up. Think I have a used set of MT ET Streets lined up and will be subsequently be ordering something like the Jeg Sport Stars wheels. Stay tuned as I am hoping to get this done before the season wraps up!

I know this is old thread.
Doug, I read your af being at 11.5 What happens if say you travel cross country? Will the computer factory in the change in sea level, humidity, ect.... Constantly?
I ask this from a daily driver perspective as I travel a lot and wanted to get a tune by VMP but wasn't sure if after the tune my car would still factor in all the climate and sea level changes to run a perfect af ratio rather then lean or rich out.
