Dyno pull
#22
My son's '05 had a tune left in his car when he bought it. He had to take it to the dealer for a reflash.
Like I told you on another forum my experience with Dyno Dynamics dyno was the same. Way high #'s. 15% on hp and 10.5% on tq compared to SAE corrected Dynojet runs.

I talked to a few people about JBA, the shop that uses the dyno dynamics. JBA does not get the warmest receptions. Their dyno numbers do seem to be high, but in my case the difference was about 4% compared to 10 or more that other people were getting.

Your car is obviously between 280-284 hp and 287 tq then. That's good numbers even for just a tune on a stock car. Both runs were SAE and Dynojet numbers, so that doesn't lie. Possible the car could still house a tune. Dyno dynamics is junk. Sorry to offend anyone, I'd own a Superflow before that!

Perhaps a dumb question, but would disconnecting the battery for 20-30 min reflash the computer? About two weeks ago I disconnected the battery for about 30 min.
I guess if you pay $95 for a dyno pull on a dyno dynamics, you will get high numbers. Inflated prices, inflated dyno numbers. But I guess the free dyno on the dyno jet somewhat makes up for it.

I bought the car in for the recall. I also had them check for a tune. They ran a diagnostic and everything checked out fine. No tune was found.

From what I have read, 269 is on the high end of a stock mustang. Your torque numbers look really good. My hp numbers are good, but I wonder if my torque numbers a little low compared to my horsepower?

I think I have the same problem! thats if its a problem or factory freak!
I returned my stock CAI+Tune to dyno this on a Dynojet..
My dyno run on my Stock GT (Auto)+SLP LM were:
1-First run=Max Power=279.70 T=287.96
2-P=292.21 T=286.23
3-P=293.9 T=290.57

Yes I will ,I have a Steeda CAI+tune ,& I'm ordering more mods ..Thats why I dyno'ed my stock to use it as a benchmark for future mods..
Some one told me that a dyno operator can easily fudge the rear wheel figures to make them higher than they should be simply by inputting higher ambient temp. and lower barometric pressure values into the dyno!..

Depending on the Dyonjet, they can be different. If I recall from reading the Ford Parts catalog, one dyno has an ambient temp. of 60 degrees and another has an ambient of 77 degrees. Supposedly when ford test their CAI/Tuner combo used in the Shelby, they used the higer ambient temp hence an increase of 20 hp vs 25-35 claimied by others.
