David & Mike

Thanks for all your input. My plates should arrive today. Will put them on this weekend.

David - where's the pictures you promised?

Mike - who's tune are you using?

I'm using Alternative Auto's tune. I've also got a tune for the converter whne it's available so I'm ready to go. This is supposed to be the exact tune in his car.

Thanks Mike

No I think I have enough now. Just received my charge motion plates in UPS today. Will install this weekend. Want to make sure my custom tune for C&L CAI will work with the plates before I install. I have called DiabloSport and am waiting for their response.

There is a harness that plugs into the stock valve control. Mine is just left unused/unplugged.

Interesting note to those of us that live in EPA high profile states (like Cal., Ny., etc.) you know who you are I received the spacers Friday and there is a notice on the instructions stating that the factory charge motion plates CAN NOT :nono: be re-installed once you remove them. Assume a dealer could do it, but just a warning for those that think they will be easy to swap back just before a smog test.

I am going to live dangerously I guess and install the spacers next Saturday anyway.

That's what I like to hear Paul! What the heck, the year of driving before your next smog test will be well worth it. Deal with it when you get to it! Atleast that's what I would have done. I used to take my cats off back when we had emissions and screw around with the car until I passed w/o putting any factory stuff back on. Of course it was carburated with no computer or emissions equipment. These cars are a bit of a different story.

For those with a C&L CAI - I have a C&L CAI and am going to install Steeda Charge Motion Delete Plates. I have a Predator Custom Tune for that combination configured for 4.10 gears with an automatic.

Soon will be adding FRPP Ceramic Coated Shorty Headers. Has anyone installed those headers with an automatic yet?

Still trying to reach 300 RWHP with an automatic.

heck still pass smog, don wry. stang should be less than half that legal limit so theres plenty of breathing room. look at ur sticker and it will show a scale (.8 is like the average new car, and gt is like .5 or .6).

The notice states they require precision alignment to function.

Slight change of plans for me. I made appointment with the dyno people for Tuesday and they said they could install the spacers in an hour or so, adjust the a/f and do some pulls for me. So they will be doing the install now.

Just installed my charge motion delete plates. Not a bad job at all. Took about 1.5 hours.

After my tune, sometimes when the car has sat for a long time, when it's started the engine revs (by itself) up to 2200 rpm a couple of times.
After that, the car operates normally. Be interesting to compare notes.

Paul is your charge motion control valve plugged into the harness behind the intake manifold or left unplugged?

Interesting note about yours revving up. Mine when first started now revs up to about 1600 RPM for about 10 seconds then returns to normal idle RPM.

It's unplugged and the tune is suppose to compensate for that. My tuner had to contact SCT to get the info on it.

Mine does the same. I asked Lidio at Alternative about and his car does it too. He said he hasn't looked into it yet.

Thanks Mike
