Nothing really. Still trying to finalize my "wish list". Once I started adding the costs up, it was getting astronomical. I may need to slice the list some.

OK... I guess I'm still looking for a Teksid block. I thought I had one bought from a member on another forum, but after I sent him money on Monday, he quit responding to e-mails/PMs on Tuesday. Not sure if I've been ripped off or not, but the fact remains, I need a block badly!! Guess I need to go look at e-Bay again.

Hey Don,
That suc@s!!! Have you considered looking at a wrecked 03/04 cobra with a good enigne that could be rebuilt?? Already has all the forged goodies. Might be something to consider. I am not 100% sure but I think they will bolt up.

Scott... I'm trying my hardest to avoid a cast iron block. I really don't want/need the extra weight up front.

Don,
I do undestand . Just thought is was an option for you. Tell all of us what your wish list is and maybe all of us can find you the perfect engine for Don W. I know others on this forum will help you look. I know I will!!!!!!!
Scott
P,S. You know that the Mark VIII"s use the Teskid block. Maybe you need to widen your search.

Don,
Have you seen this place. They have 1 Teskid short block so they say. Brand new but 8 years old. Maybe worth a look.

Thanks Scott. I definitely appreciate the support of so many people on this forum (as well as at ModularFords). I am still refining my "wish list", but I'm probably going to post it up this weekend sometime. And yes, I knew that the MarkVIII's had them, too. That Teksid short block at karkraft looks nice, but at $2500... yikes. The block and crank sound good, but no mention of the pistons/rods.

seanhyland motorsport.com has them.
They even put a supercharched 03 Cobra in an 05, but it looks like they are complete Engines.
"We also build shortblocks for 2005/2006 GT's using the earlier Teksid block, which is much stronger. Using the Teksid block, requires adapter plates and modifications to the 05 aluminum L brackets. If you order a Teksid style shortblock or longblock from us, we will include them. At present, we have no plans to offer these items separately. "

SHM would be an expensive way to go. They list this, "2005/2006 GT 3V Shortblock - $3495 Exchange". That's doesn't include the Teksid, plus I don't have an "exchange". I bet it would cost me $5K or more from them.

Don,
My bet is the the Teskid block they have has the stock powdered metal rods and cast pistons like the 96-98 Cobras had. Back in 99 I had to give 2K for just the block when I blew up my cobra. That 03/04 Cobra block doesn't look too bad if you don't mind going with the steel block. I keep looking for ya.

Looks that a good find. I am not familiar with a Kellog brand crank. Are they top notch??

I was tired there for a second and I was like, whoa, don, why the heck are you putting cereal in your engine.
I never liked the cereal kind though. Im sure I would prefer the engine kind much better.

Don_W I think you should rebuild it with a 5.4L.. It will cost about the same..

I think the deck height might be an issue, plus how would all the electronics work together then? I'm sure the PCM would freak out... at least mine would. Considering the circumstances, I'll stick to a 4.6L to make this as painless as possible (yea, right).
