As in old school Boss or next gen Boss? Good luck on the old school Boss. I picked up a mustang trader and had to pick my jaw up off the floor. Somebody wanted 90k for a 70 Mach (BB, Shaker, M4). I dunno if thats the norm, but I'd have expected 40-50k for something like that.

Bob them days are gone for sure. 90K for a well restored Boss is about right. Mach 1's like mine are now selling in the 40's. The older Mustangs have just about doulbled in price in the last 5-7 years.
Ohh..My vote is for the GT500 on just eye appeal alone!!

Since I'm 6'3" and weigh 235 I vote for the GT500! My local dealer had a triple black GT500 convertible and I see it every once in awhile around town. That car is sweet.

Well to ressurect a dead thread, I thought this to be a pretty intresting video and one that goes against the seemingly prevailing notion that the lighter IRS equipped Terminator is the better handling car.

Like alot of magazines the Terminator wins by virtue of subjective material but IMO the GT500 really does come out on top (certainly in other cases the GT500 has proven to be the faster car in the 1/4 mile as well).

From a purely subjective standpoint, I like the Terminator. The car simply screams bad-*** muscle car. But I must admit that's really only after a few minor mods. In 100% stock form, the car is hot but that's it. I must admit the same is true for the GT500. 100% stock, it's hot but with some mods, it CAN look just as menacing as the Terminator. And when you drive them, I have a hard time that ANYONE would give the nod to the Terminator. That car is one of most uncomfortable I've ever driven. Can't imagine for a second having one as a daily-driver. Driving one, is 100% the reason why I don't own one now. LOVE the power but hate the ergonomics.
Objectively, the two are really not a very good match-up. The GT500 is simply a better car from virtually any angle you would choose to compare.
The Terminators were a great effort by Ford at the time, and I'm sure they will continue to be drooled over and feared by many enthusiasts for a long time to come but face it, time marches on and cars have gotten better.

I'm confused how you can hate the ergonomics when they are identical to your 03 stang?

I test drove a 2003 cobra and it was just as easy to drive as my 99 gt i had at the time.

I drove 3 Cobras and every one was uncomfortable to me. More specifically, the relative position of the shifter, steering wheel, pedals and seat. When driving the Cobras, I had to not only put the seat all the way back but also recline it slightly to be able to get a proper distance to the pedals and steering wheel. But once in that position, I had to lean forward to shift the trans. Then on top of that, the clutch effort was ridiculously heavy.
Since I had actually driven the Cobras before any GT's, I was bummed and had all but given up on the Mustang. Then, I test drove a couple '03 GT's and found them to be far more comfortable. Specifically, the relative positions of the items mentioned above. You say they're all the same but unless all three Cobras I drove were somehow modified, I respectfully beg to differ with your statement. My current car (shown in my Sig.) even has a short-throw shifter and is still more comfortable than the Cobras were.

I'm kinda surprised by the drag race myself. Particularly since the Cobra actually started out behind the GT500 and then pulled on him on the top end, exactly where you wouldn't expect the Cobra to pull on the GT500. Even more, AFAIK to date the best GT500 stock 1/4 mile times are faster than the best stock Termi 1/4 mile times and a 12.7 is a very good time for a stock Terminator on stock rubber. Still, a wins a win and on this day that Termi pulled that GT500 down the 1/4 mile.

Very true statement, The car had the most heaviest clutch I have ever experienced in any car or truck! After just a few minutes in Socal traffic I wanted to pull over and shoot the **** thing

But I was and still am in love with the looks and the power, the blower whine I sold my first cobra due to the clutch, then I missed the power bought another one..then I remembered why I sold the first one

With all the mods possible these days, power levels equal to a "stock" Terminator are fairly easily attained by a GT owner. It's just not as bullet-proof as the real-deal.

Mods to a stock termy is one thing, but lets see $1500 worth of mods put out 500+rwhp on a GT.

My favorite thing about a termy. Although a GT500 is about the same I would think in that department with only about 500$

I realize a Terminator is easy to mod. I was just trying point out that it's "stock" output is fairly easy to attain in lesser Mustangs. Something I intend to do myself since my car is more comfortable than a Terminator, and is a collectible series car. For me, having approx. the power of a Terminator is good enough. I'm not looking to build an all-conquering street racer, just raise my GT to a level I feel is more reasonable than stock.

I can dig that. It's not like you can find a stock termy anyway these days. All the ones I've seen at the track are pushing at least 600. Saw an 800 RWHP GT500, KB swap, headers tune and a few other bolt on's. Couldn't get faster than a 12.8 at like 130. Spinning **** near the entire 1/8th.
