At the same price point, how would an S281E compare to the M3? I've driven the E and 05 M3's and I can probably help you with the answer if it gets difficult....where the M3 is very communicative and you can really gauge your cornering speeds perfectly, the Saleen is already going 30-40mph faster then your brain is ready for. You of course have to allow a little credit to the M3 for trying very hard to compare to a higher-end vehicle by a few thousand. I don't get an M3 guy thinking they need to race Mustangs, and usually want to know exactly what you did to it before trying. I wonder if they are so enthusiastic picking on Z06's. Most M3 owners I have met are obsessed with Mustangs. Even with my old lowered GT with the bassanis and big brakes would have most M3 owners turning and starting new conversations with their girlfriends and suddenly becoming prudent drivers or finidng someone to dial on a cell phone when the other direction's lights turned yellow. They also seem to want very highly controlled evironments before taunting.

You should actually compare the mustang to the little 318 coupe they did a few years ago Even a 330ci costs a ton more then a GT, and would probably need to know what the V6 coupe has done to it before lining up to a light...So why compare the upper versions of one brand's coupe to the middle/lower one's of another's?
