How many would install paddle shifters into their 13/14 auto Mustangs?
I have recently discovered the popularity of the Mercedes AMG paddle shifters. They are being used in other makes, like the Ford Focus, BMW and Chrysler 300, Challenger or Charger etc ...
The paddles themselves are easy enough to install and look OEM - really good, in fact. You would have to be willing to cut out the back of the wheel to accommodate the paddles, though. The following pics are from here:

This guy did it to his Focus:

Now these guys had enough slots in the clock spring to hard wire these paddles (You need 3 empty slots for the job) but the 13/14 Mustang with Sync and Track Apps only has 1 empty slot.
I have been in contact with a person that has been making modules for these paddle shifters for the Chryslers, and he is willing to make them for your Mustangs.
There are 2 choices:
1 - Hard wired using a module that translates the signal but only needs 1 empty slot.
2 - Use the transmitter he builds for the Chrylser guys to send a signal from the wheel to a receiver. No batteries in this, as it uses only the car's power.
Is there interest in this for him to pursue making a kit? Here is his Chrysler product. It was also used in the thread I linked above.

I myself am doing it for sure. This mod looks great.

Problem is the shift still won't be very quick unless the transmission is significantly upgraded too, right?

My Paddles are on their way from Germany, and I have the module to make it work in our Mustang on the way as well. When it all gets here, I'll post the install write up.

So am I.
While the battery operated radio transmitter paddles I got from Philip on Ebay worked fine, they were too much effort to get them to look ok They were 3D printed and have the rough layered look to them. They had to be sanded, painted and polished. But they clipped onto the steering wheel, so they looked like the add on they were. I was looking into permanently attaching them, which can be done. But the battery thing bothered me, and sure enough a battery died.
This method using the AMG paddles and LXCS's control module eliminates the whole battery thing, and the paddles are Mercedes quality.

Lol Ford is hilarious. The Taurus had them in 2010. Mustang had to wait till 2015...
Anyway, its been done before, there are several kits.
Here is a wirless kit that involves no custom fabrication

Unfortunately, the one you show is the ONLY kit out there. There are no others. That is the one from Phillip.
But as I had already stated, it has some issues. No, it doesn't need custom work. But it is that it is 3D printed so it has the layered print texture and look to it. It looks terrible and homemade. It takes alot of work to get it to look half decent, they are battery operated and they are clip ons. They are quite expensive considering this. You can see my posts concerning this kit in the 5.0 mod section.
Using the AMG Mercedes paddles and LXCS's control module is world's better than this one.

For those wondering if this is happening, I got the control module today. I am just waiting on the paddles and some other parts for my keyless ignition. Here are pics of what I got From TCS300:

I will be following since I hate the button even though I drive around in manual mode 50% of the time. Driving would be more pleasurable and safer. Nothing like cruising around in 2nd gear with a supercharger and roasting the tires with a touch of the gas and now i can keep both hands of the wheel.

The paddles are in the post office. I will be picking them up tomorrow. All I need now are the LED light bezels I ordered, as I plan to illuminate the paddles when the dash lights are on. I can install the paddles without them, but I want to do it all at teh same time. Also waiting on some diagrams to do my keyless ignition start button.
Almost ready ...

OK, I couldn't wait to get these, so I picked them up tonight form the post office.
There are really nice! They are made of metal, so they are heavy pieces. Very sturdy feeling, and have a really nice feel when you press them. I cannot wait to get these installed!
Mercedes quality!

$200 for the paddles and the control module. I know it is alot, but I will get good paddles that look OEM and match the interior.
Now if only the car's shifting can match my nice new shiny paddles.
I may not get to the other mods this weekend, but I will do this mod, as it is simple enough and not that involving.
I will do a write up with pics.

The wife's GT/CS is an automatic and I can tell you if there was a 'clean' install with the quality look of the Merc paddles I would definitely be interested! Oh, and cost has to be at least somewhat reasonable, say no more than $300 or so??? Later, Jim
