Yep but so much more stable. I'll be stepping up to an 07-09 next. Heavily modded though. And plan on stripping everything that makes it a Shelby off of it.

Funny I think I could live with the Bullitt interior, but for a GT500, I'd have to go up to a 10+, and at that 11+ so I could get a Glass Roof. I'm very picky about my S197s haha

The 09 you drove couldn't have had more rattles than a 94-04 Mustang. My Cobra had interior rattles when I bought it with 5k on it!

Good thing about the price is i'm not desperate to sell, I don't owe anything on it I might just sell it in the Spring to maximize my sales price.

I barley go to the track, I want a comfortable driver. My Cobra is modded to the max for me. I don't want to ruin it like I did to my fox back in the day.

500+HP is more than enough for me

Cai, pulley swap, safe tune, and exhaust, and you got easily a 550-575rwhp gt500! Thats my plan anyway

Sounds good. And the '09 definitely had less than my '00, but when driving it back to back with a '10, there was a big difference.

Word to everyone! If you are going to get a 07 or newer GT500, gotta get a 08 or newer now. Just saw this on SVTP.

NHRA recently amended the roll bar rule for street legal vehicles. Model year 2008 and newer unaltered, OEM production vehicles running slower than 9.99 seconds and under 135 MPH do not have to meet the roll bar requirements for ET racing. This is great news for our Wednesday and Friday Street Night competitors that had to slow down or stop racing entirely because of the 11.49 elapsed time rule. Some restrictions still remain, however. All drivers must meet the Helmet and Protective Clothing requirements. Convertibles and T-Top entries must still comply with the current NHRA roll bar rule.
So Good news for everyone you can now run up to 9.99 in a 2008+ coupe car and not have to put in a roll bar!

Why the arbitrary 2008 model year?? The Mustang was the only rear wheel drive car that gets dragged available at that time! Weird, should go back to 2005...

2008 was the first year side airbags were mandatory, so 2008 and newer would be safer in roll over than prior years.

You are lucky, the overall fit and finish quality of my 97 is better than my 03. The interior body panels are much tighter on the 97. They both rattle over bumps though.
