And to a majority of drivers, they're all just cars. No difference between a GT500, GT, and a 1992 Saturn.

Try to get your typical Corolla/Civic driver excited about a car. Not likely.

A lot of people pay a premium for the "sticker" 'vettes. The special edition packages costing $5000 or more only to find out later they're not worth much more than the one without all the stickers. Granted, the GT500 is not just a "sticker" car but it's "still" just a Ford. And that's how most people will always see it.

After reading that, I think I have a new license plate idea: "NO RNTL"

No offense but I have a mach 1 myself, and many mach 1 owners pride themselves on being rare as well... If you ask me that all has to do ***** pride. As long as the car I am driving is awesome, I could care less what anyone else is driving on the road.

Also if I want to be unique and stick out I will use appearance mods to do so...

I am not saying a shelby gt500 isn't an awesome car, because it obviously is! I love that car and was very close to trading in my mach for, instead I opted to wait for a 2011 mustang gt because I wanted the newer car for a daily driver.... to each their own.

Eh, I wouldn't even consider the rarity of the kind of car myself. I didn't get a car for other people to stare at. I'd buy a Toyota Corolla if I really liked it and wanted one (I just really don't ). If we want to talk looks though, I personally prefer the ponies to the snakes. Lol.

Nope. Completely different powertrain. Hand built engine. Things you'll never get on a GT.

geez...you sound like you have the napoleon complex....I guess you walk around thinking you are better than "just a GT driver". I am sure glad I don't have this complex when I drove my 01 and 03 cobra's back when "just a GT" was on the roads with me.

oh ok so your post "it will always be a GT" is not a jab or flame? I have posted input in this thread as well unlike what you consider "input".

I used to hang around a couple guys like that.
Funny when they used to lose to 'just a GT' they'd start pulling out the 'well I have...'
or spin the wheel on whatever superiority complex excuse they were using that week

Whatever floats their boat...

Besides a GT500 is just a GT500...

No, it isn't a jab or a flame. It is just a fact that a GT is a much more mass produced car that you will see 10x more often.

The IRS *is* great on REAL ROADS.

People always talk about how well the SRA does on a TRACK and how the Mustang doesn't need IRS. It does. Badly. My Mustang is not a track car. Roads aren't perfect and prepped. The SRA skips on corners when it hits bumps. No way to stop it, period. IRS would make it a better car. Anyone who says the SRA can do just as well on ACTUAL ROADS is a fanboy. Our G8 is amazing in that regard. Much more sorted chassis then the Mustang for non track driving.

I think you should get a 2011 GT500. You'll forget all about Coyote and SkyNet.

IMO, a GT500 is the kind of car you keep forever. The car you take to the local Car Cruise. The car that your grandchildren fight over, after you die-lol

If you plan on driving your Mustang a lot or want to race it, the GT 5.0 is the car for you!

GTJOHN I beat the holy hell out of mine. It's what it was built for. The clutch doesn't give out after 12 hard runs either =)

If you've entered the turn under acceleration, particularly hard acceleration, any minor blip is just that - minor. Driver's skill makes the response second nature.

Then again greenhorns need traction control, stability control, GPS, Nav...

Not dissing IRS. Just sayin'...
