Finally used 5.0 prices are coming down to reality.

With the GT500 I'd get something more comfortable than my car and way more power potential, though I'm not planning on going crazy with mods. Overall I like the interior of the 2010+ but like the exterior of the 07-09 GT500 best. My ideal situation would be a white w/ blue stripe GT500 coupe with 2010 GT500 wheels.

I've thought about getting an '09 Bullitt, throwing the E-force SC on it, and swapping out the whole interior for the '10+, then having an OEM Glass Roof installed. The only thing is, I'd miss the 2010+ hips that I wish the '05-09 had. I can't afford any of that right now so it's really a moot point for me.

Yeah I like many don't like the rear of the 2010-12 cars but its not a deal breaker for me. Another cool thing is I wouldn't have to use premium fuel on every tank. I wouldn't have a leg press for a clutch peddle any more...

I know the GT500 has some of it's faults too but would be willing to overlook them for the right price. Truthfully the 2011-12 GT500s are the best deal for how new the cars are but simply can't afford one. If I sell my Cobra I'd have most of the money I'd need for a 11 GT or 07-09 GT500. I'm just thinking this over for now... Depending on how patient I am I may do what another poster suggested and wait for the next gen car to come out and make my decision then...Hopefully by that time I can afford a used 2013 GT500 lol

I have always dreamed of a anything with the name Shelby on it. 4 months ago I was considering a similar problem. I was looking at a 11 gt, 2008 Shelby, and even considered being responsible and getting a brand new 13 v6.

I decided that a longer warranty and more refined interior would be a good cross between the Shelby I wanted and the v6 I should have bought. I don't regret my choice. I was able to get a 2012 gt premium with 6000 miles on it for less than the 30000 price tag you mentioned.

Best bang for the buck is gonna be a used SVT car. Seats and tail lights can be swapped. Stereos can be upgraded. Forged 4 valve is the way to go.

Why not 2010 GT500 then? I think for your requirements, it's probably the best deal...

They're still kinda expensive. Besides, the SVT 5.4L is the same power plant. 08-12 pretty much. When I bought mine I had a $25k limit to buy the baddest *** car for the money. Think I did ok.

I know the powertrain is similar, but the 11-12 still command a premium over the 10, due to the aluminum block and other tweaks like standard HIDs and optional Glass Roof. A base 2010 can be had around $35k...depending on area and mileage.

You may be on to something here...

I say you wait on the '10 GT500 prices to drop...

Still worth it probably. It's good looking. They claim that they did all the repair work themselves. So they should have the records of what was wrong with it. Don't be too afraid of salvaged titles. This car would be very tempting depending on what totaled it in the first place.

Yeah I saw that part too. If I were in the market, I'd definitely still take a look. Salvaged title wouldn't bother me, other than it's harder to get full insurance for them in CA. Body looks all straight, so like you said, I wonder what totaled it. That's a pricey repair for a $40-50k car!

Here's a private listing at $37k...might be able to talk him down. Already lowered, stripe delete, has HIDs.

If you're gonna go nekkid, go nekkid all the way. My first mod on that would be to add the OTT stripes back on

Oh agreed, but I'd do the opposite and peel the lowers off too haha. Man, I started looking at used '11 GT500s...bad idea haha. I could get a loaded EP/PP/GR stripe delete car for about $40k, from a dealer. I think I just changed my mind again for when I get back on my feet hahaha!!

Don't get a none SVT model. 10+ GT500 would be the only car maybe worth going from a Terminator to.

Nah. An 07-09 is still an upgrade. Just depends what you want out of the car and what body you prefer. I personally think the terminator is more fun to drive but the Shelby has a little more potential.
