Removed grill and condenser. Might purchase open aftermarket open grill later. Did it all without removing front bumper (PITA) :-)

That should help. I did the same before I went to VIR last year, and that, combined with running the heat, led to zero temp issues. It was in the 80's there the first day too. When do you get out again?

Got the Tahoe back today! It now has long tube cat-less headers, cat-delete y-pipe, intake, and custom tuning! I did a little testing, seems like it's around 0.5 sec faster 0-75 mph and the ECU apparently learns for a while so it should get even a little better.
Red line is before any mods, orange was first run with new stuff, purple was a run a little later. Note the slope of each... steeper slope means more power.

So a few days ago I finally got around to installing my Steeda intake/tune.
I like it! The intake noises are cool, and it's sweet to hear it when you're heal and toe-ing it to the stop light, or just rev matching.
The power gain is noticeable over 4500RPM. It pulls harder, and makes the car louder in the good way. Like in a long tube kind of way if that makes sense? Also I notice the increased torque, particularly down low. At 2200 RPM in 6th it's easier to pass without downshifting.
Around town at lower RPM it's OEM smooth. I don't even notice the difference, and the idle is nice and smooth too.

I notice that you left the sound tube in place. I ended up deleting the sound tube after the first week with the Steeda CAI. The added airflow increased the volume to an annoying level around town for me.

Inside the car I can barely hear the intake even with the sound tube. Once I crack the windows is when I hear it.

For overheating issues; how about leaving those engine covers off?
All the hoses and stuff that are exposed are not the prettiest sight; but it's a track car and those plastic covers must hold in some heat.

Agreed, I spoke to a driver of a 302 tracked prepped at COTA, and he didn't have any plastic covers and he said he removed the molded foam type underneath the boss manifold. I removed mine and installed roush but now I'm thinking 302s grill :-(

I took the Mustang out today for the first time since November 2nd, 2016. Felt great to drive. I forgot how much power it has... and the new suspension is tight. Not as harsh as I expected though. I need to work on shock/strut compression and rebound settings now. I'm a novice when it comes to that setup, lots to learn this year. Zero body roll though, result of 550 in/lb springs up front I guess

You've never blasted the heat on full at a track day right? Assuming not, seriously try that. It helps a lot
