This thing will make a difference for sure.

How do you make sure the air is out of the cooling system? Do you just fill it up and let it run?
Making sure the air was out took some time. I filled the overfill tank, heater in high, and ran the engine. I watched the level drop and added coolant with the cover off the whole time. I really took my time for this part and I noticed the level sometimes drop fast and slow (probably due to air pockets releasing) but the main point is take your time after. I monitored the heat level indicator for overheating and took the car out for a quick drive, then came back and added some more. I was nervous at first seeing the hole in the engine bay but it worked out :-)

Nice! You'll like them. I still have a hard time wrapping my head around this working but I have had great results. Consider 2-piece rotors too... they run so much cooler as well.

Gonna be a great season!

I have been looking at the TI shields as well. I see that Hard Brakes sells 2 different thickness's. Are you guys running the .5mm or the 1 mm? I am curious if there is enough room to run the thicker shields with new pads or not.

I read from the TMO forum to go with the .5 because of fitment that's why I bought .5 but I'd recommend you search/read too

Agreed. The thicker ones can be too much for new pads. But slightlybeien pads would would just fine. I've been using the 0.5 ones for a couple seasons now with no issues.

My main plan is to extract a few seconds out of my lap times with the "driver mod" while leaving the car alone. I learned in my last track day of 2016 that the car has more in it, without any further modificatoins.

About the titanium brake shims -- my Brembo kit came with tapered shims. Meaning they look similar to the ones you guys have, but the lower edge is cut on an angle. I guess they are supposed to provide the heat shield and also compensate for pad wear or something. I have noticed that my pads wear at an angle but haven't put the whole picture together on how that tapered cut works with or against that uneven wear.

Have any of you seen that; do you know why they are cut that way? (I think I have some pictures somewhere . . . )

I put the rear sway bar on last weekend and noticed that the turkey baster fix the dealer put on my car to fix the leaking rear axle vent is starting to melt. The combination of Kooks pipes and Steeda sport springs puts it too close to the exhaust, so it looks like I have something else to do before spring. Any advise on rear axle reservoirs?

There are some remote reservoir kits that run a hose from the vent up into the trunk. . . . Google might find it, or maybe someone else on here knows more specifics.

On my car I upgraded to the Boss/GT-500 finned diff cover; this has a vent hole up on top; I mounted the turkey baster thing up there and it seems to be fine.

It automatically blips the throttle when you downshift (similar to heel/toe)

sounds like cheating to me!

I wonder how it copes with the throttle lag, I haven't mastered the downshift yet either and the lag does not help.

By the way, for my feet on this car, it is more of a left side / right side of foot thing, not really heal/toe

That is what I understand. I need someone to walk me through the proper technique and then some practice until i really get it. Unfortunately, it is too cold right now to take the Mustang out. Maybe next week when it warms back up.

Practice makes perfect. It took me 2 years of practice, and now I'm nearly spot-on on the street. It's toes on the brake and outside middle of the foot on the throttle.

At the track, when the brake pedal is deeeeep down I'm not quite perfect yet. Good goal for 2017 for me. It's more heal and toe in this situation too, with the toes on the brake and the heel on the throttle.

If you want to practice I say get good on the street with every downshift. It will make heal-and-toe easier at the track, though it will take adjustment.

I bet you Auto Blip does it better than me though, so that should be fun!

I bet the better throttle response with the Steeda intake/tune will help. The throttle lag is annoying.

I will start practicing the heal toe shift once the weather warms back up. If I don't seem to get it I may look into the Auto Blip as a last resort.

Is it a seperate cooler or the one that utilizes the coooant line?

Had to buy a new fridge over the weekend, an unexpected $1500... interfering with mustang plans! 😋
