I feel your pain.

I brought my '05 home back in October 2004 (pre-ordered). In November, I was stopped at a stoplight and this dude in a Nissan Sentra beater plowed into my back end. What's worse, he didnt speak English and was going to drive off except that a cop had seen the whole thing. Luckily the damage was pretty minor and ticketed the other driver so his insurance paid for the whole thing ($700 total). Ever seen a big man cry?

I wish I had seen this earlier....I also had a "group" of little dents on the top of my fender just next to the trunk lid on the passenger side. I still don't know how that happened but I do know one thing for sure, the metal on the new cars is not what it used to be. I think those may have just had a hand or elbow lean on them (just guessing) but this reallly looks like a week spot on the stangs....Anyway, I called my body shop friend and he suggested that I call the "dent wizard"....This is a franchise type thing that usually involves a guy that goes around fixing dents. He usually has to drill a hole to access the dent from behind. In my case we had to remove the rear tail light so that he could drill in and get the tool in a proper setup. The tool just consisted of a long piece of iron that had a curved end on it that he basically just used to slightly tap the dents out. It took all of about 30 minutes and 75.00. The dents are totally gone no matter what light you get into, the original paint is still intact so no fill and it was a WHOLE lot cheaper than what you paid. Per the "wizard", the metal is also now stronger from being worked and he used some rust proof material on the plug for the whole (which basically looked just like it came from the factory anyway.) I would imagine that every area has somebody that does this type of work. I was just lucky to have a buddy in the business that didn't give me the business.

Dent Wizard is great, but if it needs paint - as Tony's did, then you've gotta go to a shop.

Dent Wizard is good, but stay away from Billy Mays and the Ding King. (I hate that guy)

If the paint had not been broken, I might have considered this. The metal might be thinner these days, but I still think it tends to crumple when pushed into immovable concrete

F-ing buttwipes. I'm starting to consider carry some lead pipe in my car for just this circumstance. $700 sounds cheap. This Taxi did the same thing to my wife's '97 Sable. I guess his record was so bad, he had to be carried by the MD default insurance. What a hassle it was getting the money from those folks. Some people are a waste of oxygen...
