What to use to fill-in the lettering on the 5.0 coil covers?
OK, I know it's 5.0-specific, but I figured this thread might get better answers if more people would see it in "general chat"
So, I acquired a set of blue coil covers, but I'd like to do something to them before installing them ... the "POWERED BY FORD" lettering already had some dust/dirt in them, and because of the color it looked bad, and apparently they're kinda hard to clean ... lol
So.
I'd like to fill them in and make the cover flush, and at the same time maybe make the fill material be black so the lettering pops more. A nice gray close to match the Sterling Gray color of the car would be cool too
Any ideas?
Thanks guys.
The cover in question, just cuz I already took a pic as soon as I got them

I'm thinking that modeling clay might work for this ...
I'm finding stuff that seems to be what I want ... "soft, puffy, and pliable modeling material. More 'stretch', so fibers won't break apart when pulled. Reusable when stored properly in airtight container. Dries overnight and decorates easily. Paint finished piece with acrylic paint ..."

First, I would carefully hand paint or pour paint into the embossed letters using a small brush or funnel/straw. If you use a brush and accidently go over the edges, then wipe it off as best you can. If the paint smears slightly. (it will.) no worries because:
After it dries, you will then push the modeling clay into the letters as a mask. Be sure you level out the clay just a hair below the newly painted letter line so it's clean, then spray the rest of the cover. Let dry, then carefully pull the clay out of the letters. Let dry a while, then wash with soap and water and instal.

Or,
Apparently I could just buy the lettering pre-made, ready to be installed
(it's so nice to own a Mustang. you think of something and SOMEBODY out there makes it ... LOL)
Only part I don't like is that "These will stick out from your coil covers slightly for a raised lettering appearance" ... I was hoping for a flush installation ...

"Details:
This is a lettering kit to fill in the "POWERED BY FORD" embossments in your factory coil covers. This is a Ford Motor Company Official Licensed Product. These pieces are made from laser-cut plastic that stick into place with pre-applied 3M automotive double-sided tape. These will stick out from your coil covers slightly for a raised lettering appearance. You get to choose your color from the swatches below.
You will receive 2 sets of lettering; one for the driver's side and one for the passenger's side. You will also receive the 4 strips to fill the embossments as well; again 2 for the driver's side, and 2 for the passenger's side.
You will receive these lettering kits pre-labeled for the driver's and passenger's side. Ford did not make each side the same, so your fill-ins will be side specific."

My option may take a bit longer but I think its worth it. I'm not big on putting 3M tape into the embossed areas especially if it raised up. Also even a hairline of the tape attracts all kinds of dirt a debris.
However, If no tape shows and you just see the plastic letters, then heck it may look good!

My idea to use lettering that sits flush would have me install the lettering, then maybe use some clear-caulking type of material to seal them in even flusher, then clear-coat the whole coil cover so it shines

I do, thanks for the quick shipping
