7k for the Tremec swap? Would that be hard to do myself on a lift? Hmmm

There's a lot more than just the transmission

"T-56 Magnum conversion - includes transmission, SFI steel bellhousing,
shifter, crossmember, driveshaft, & clutch - installed"

I use to do all labor on the cars I've owned but now a days I''m to lazy (and old LOL) to do tough jobs. The thrill is gone spending my only time off on weekends elbow deep in to it.

I did a "tweak" detail of the Mistress for a show tomorrow. She was pretty clean to start with, so it was just maintenance... QD the paintwork, clean the wheels and windows. I also reorganized my detailing supplies I keep in the car.

The shifter will only help with the shifting and its feel, it can't help with the looseness inside the transmission that allows things to clang back and forth as you load/unload its guts.
Driving it yesterday looking at houses for sale, driving a lot slowly and slow maneuvers, really drove me nuts. I couldn't wait to get it home and park it.

I found JPC's kit at about $5900 shipped as a pretty good deal, all things considering, and that's with the McLeod RXT 1000-hp clutch, the billet driveshaft yoke, and a new flywheel, plus the other things they include like the new necessary crossmember, new Dynatech driveshaft, and the thing you need for the 5.0's speedometer

I have a couple local friends that would do the install fairly cheaply, and I can sell my DSS driveshaft, the Barton shifter and the MT82 itself, so I can make back about $2k or more ... but I'm still not willing to spend the money just yet, being unemployed and all. Gotta spend what I have wisely.

Does she prefer a ring or a Supercharged pony for an engagement present? Something tells me the latter, which means she is definitely a keeper.

Couldn't agree more, it's the guts that is clanging around. Low RPM shifting sucks. I'll probably wait until if / when it falls apart then go with the kit. Although clunky it's holding on for two years and 3 months.

That's kit is the same as I'm looking at but unfortunately for me no friends willing to do it cheap. I do however have a very trusted shop and I was figuring a days labor to do everything and incidentals it going to come close to the 7 grand I mentioned earlier.

Yeah,...the MT82 is just garbage. PURE GARBAGE. lol
Gabe,....just a quick question. Why the JPC package over the Tremec? Is it because of all the necessary hardware that you need as well?

Gabe - Saw a few of your MoMass members at the AM car show today!
Also picked up a MMD ducktail spoiler painted at the show for 80 bucks. Hopefully installing that along with my gt500 valence and quad tips tomorrow.

Wiped it down and polished it off. Yesterday I took a drive up to North St. Paul to see some old cars cruise.

I went with the girls. Best weather ever. The place was jumping. I already want to go again when my wallet is full. So much to do there.

It's a great time for sure. I've only made it out once this summer. Usually make it out a lot more often.
