Bill That Canton stuff is just You're gonna need to pass out welding goggles when you open that hood at shows LOL
If not for this Forum, Id be $X000 richer!
(Never added up my reciepts yet, don't want to either! Ha!)

I just hope all this S/C and other stuff turn out the way I hope.
There's a few custom tweaks in the process (bracket for the p/s relo needs to be fab'd, fuel line to fuel rail is getting a custom steel braid job with AN fitting for my fuel pressure gauge, etc., etc.) and all this takes extra time.

Funny you should ask Ray. A lady left a message the night I e-mailed them (this past Tuesday) and said that they mailed out my packet on the 11th. She said to give it til the end of the month, and if still no recieve, call her back and maybe they'll mail another one out to me. She also mentioned that I am registered, so at worst, go there with nothing and they'll have me on a 'list'.

Morning, jeez it's early
The rears look great, but they seem too deep up front. How are the different from the normal deep dish?

Little tips I gathered yesterday..
  • I used a rotary cutter on a Dremel, worked perfectly.
  • Tape up the ball (so not to mar the paint) and place the mast/ball into an adjustable wrench and whack it (the wrench) with a good size hammer and the ball will pop off. Since covered with tape, it won't roll away and be lost forever.
  • Mast diameter is smaller at the ball than mid-way down. I used a grinder/sander attachment of the Dremel and tapered the end down so it slips into the ball (mask off so only the sanding down section is exposed).
  • Put a tiny drop of super glue in the ball and set the antenna in it. I put WAY too much glue in the ball and it started to run out.. made a mess, ball almost got stuck to my fingers, left fingerprints on the ball.
  • After the glue set, I used scotchbrite to remove the prints and left over glue on the ball, alcohol wiped it, then shot some flat black on the ball. Turned out pretty good, but really needed semi-gloss black for a better match.
****.. post turned into a 'how-to'. What can I say, it's in my blood!

The Jed is down for the count.. got a relapse.

Idiot!!!

Car's at the dealership as of 7 this morning.
Things getting fixed

1)Airbag recall

2)Replacing Shaker 1000 (Service guy said he'd ask for an 08 head unit. Not sure I believe him but I can hope.) Hope it works out so I can have a head unit with the chrome bezels.

3)Replacing the shifter. Black slider thing makes contact with the handle and is rubbing the finish of the the shifter.

Should have her back by this afternoon.

So Luis what do you have your D-specs set to currently? I'm at 5 1/2 all around. Might drop the fronts down to 4 though.

Staggered 18" chrome Shelby Redline / BFG package for $2090... not too bad of a price.

I know Luis is checking out the Redline's..

Good luck on #2! Hope they do it for you.

First time I heard of issue #3. What will they be replacing? Just the handle? Or the whole shifter bezel and all?

That car looks awesome, but I think the rims a an inch or so too big. I do love that car though, the tonnaeu (sp?) is cool with the pony on it.

more like $XX,000!
Maybe this is a dumb question, but if it's a kit for a Mustang, or supposed to be, why does all the little custom things like the brackets and grinding have to be done?

I'd kill him, but seeing as though is a Shelby GT, his parents will probably say shame on you, then get him another one. Let's hope Chris doesnt do that, I think we're all crossing our fingers

Hope you get better Jed

Well it looks like I wont be driving the pj for a while

It is currently fourth on the tuner's "Need to be processed" pile and should be shipping out today. UPS pickup is two hours early today (3:30PM) since it is Good Friday so at worst case it will go out Monday morning.

$XX,000 is probably more accurate!

The kit is essentially complete and should be 'bolt-on' for a stock GT.

Because I want to retain the side MWAG covers, I can't locate the p/s reservior per Vortech's instructions. Initially, I wanted it to be located below the cover, and when I need to service it, no big deal to pop the cover off. As it turned out, no room under the cover. New location will be on the Passenger side strut tower, hence the need for a custom bracket.

Because my UDP's had to come off, Hector took additional time to prep and paint my factory crank pulley (for cosmetic only).

In anticipation of my fuel pressure sender unit, we opted to replace the fuel line with a steel braided line with the factory fittings on each end plus a AN T-fitting for the sender. Tapping elsewhere would've worked, but we're looking at long term safety and reliabilty.

Only unexpected trimming so far looks like the oil feed B-nut to mounting plate issue (posted that pic last week). I don't know if he worked around it or still has plans on trimming the mounting plate.

To add, everything is basically 'pre-installed' once for proper alignment and fitment, then disassembled, loctited, and then reassembled. All this sounds like extra work (which it is), but it ensures a clean install.

All cosmetic hose clamps will be replaced with t-bolt clamps too.

It will be ready for a POTR inspection at the Knotts show. I'm sure some feedback will follow.
